Why it stands out

The 2026 Ford F-250 Super Duty stands out because it blends serious heavy-duty capability with a level of comfort and technology that makes it easier to live with every day. Ford redesigned this generation from the ground up in the fall of 2022, and the truck brings a modern cabin, updated styling, and a broad spread of trims that runs from work-focused to genuinely luxurious. It also offers a strong mix of powertrains, including a 6.8-litre gas V8, the 7.3-litre “Godzilla” V8 on higher trims, and a high-output 6.7-litre Power Stroke turbodiesel V8 with 1,200 pound-feet of torque. That diesel gives the F-250 single-rear-wheel towing figures of up to 9,980 kilograms with a conventional hitch or 10,430 kilograms with a gooseneck hitch, while payload can reach over 1,630 kilograms in the most extreme configurations.

What makes this truck especially appealing is how much useful equipment Ford has packed into it. Even the base model gets an 8.0-inch infotainment screen, while higher trims can have a 12.0-inch display, a configurable 12.0-inch digital gauge cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 5G WiFi hotspot. Ford also added practical tools such as onboard scales, a trailer-aware surround-view camera system, adaptive cruise control with lane centring, trailer navigation, tailgate-down backup cameras and sensing units, and Pro Trailer Hitch Assist. The F-250’s four-wheel-drive-heavy lineup, familiar cab and bed choices, and available Tremor off-road package add to its versatility.

There are still trade-offs, though. The F-250 remains a big truck, so poor sight-lines over the tall front end and a rough ride are part of the package, and the most capable versions can be expensive. Even so, for buyers who want maximum towing and hauling ability without giving up modern convenience, the 2026 Ford F-250 Super Duty is one of the most complete heavy-duty pickups available.
