Why it stands out

The 2026 Ford F-250 Super Duty stands out because it combines serious heavy-duty capability with a level of comfort and technology that makes it easier to live with every day. Ford redesigned the current Super Duty from the ground up, and the truck uses a beefy frame of its own while borrowing some style, cab, and interior elements from the circa-2021 F-150. It also brings a broad spread of powertrains, starting with a 6.8-litre gas-powered V8, continuing with the 7.3-litre “Godzilla” V8 on higher trims, and offering a high-output 6.7-litre Power Stroke turbodiesel V8 with 1,200 pound-feet of torque.

Capability remains the main attraction. Depending on configuration, the F-250 can tow up to 9,980 kilograms with a conventional hitch or 10,430 kilograms with a gooseneck hitch, while payload capacity ranges from around 770 kilograms to over 1,630 kilograms. Most trims come with four-wheel drive by default, and the truck keeps the familiar regular, SuperCab, and crew cab layouts with 6.75- or 8-foot beds. Ford also loaded it with useful technology, including an 8.0-inch infotainment screen on the base model, a 12.0-inch display and configurable 12.0-inch digital gauge cluster on higher trims, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 5G WiFi hotspot, onboard scales, trailer-aware surround-view monitoring, adaptive cruise control with lane centring, trailer navigation, and Pro Trailer Hitch Assist.

For buyers, the appeal is that the 2026 Ford F-250 Super Duty is still a work-first truck, but one that can be specified with luxury and off-road equipment rather than feeling stripped out. The lineup runs from XL to XLT and Lariat, then up to King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited, and the Tremor package adds hardware such as an electronically locking rear differential, a front limited-slip differential, off-road shocks, skid plates, 35-inch all-terrain tyres, and trail and rock crawl control. The trade-off is that this is still a large, expensive truck, and even the most basic versions are aimed at buyers who genuinely need its size, towing strength, and payload rather than anyone looking for a simple daily driver.
