Why it stands out

The 2026 Ford Bronco stands out because it blends retro character with serious off-road hardware. It takes styling cues from the original Bronco, including round headlights, while also offering modern functionality such as a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a six-speaker audio system, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, a 4G LTE wireless modem, and keyless entry. Its removable roof, two- and four-door configurations, and removable doors reinforce its open-air appeal, and the body-on-frame construction, solid axle rear suspension, and available off-road-focused hardware underline that this is still a purpose-built SUV rather than a soft-roader.

It is also unusually configurable. The Bronco is offered with a trio of EcoBoost turbocharged engines, and the base four-cylinder can be paired with a seven-speed manual transmission, while a 10-speed automatic is standard with other versions. Available off-road equipment includes G.O.A.T. Modes, Trail One-Pedal Drive, Trail Turn Assist, and the Sasquatch package, which adds 17-inch beadlock wheels, 35-inch all-terrain tyres, electronic-locking front and rear axles, a suspension lift, and HOSS. For buyers who want the most extreme version, the Bronco Raptor sits at the top of the lineup with 37-inch tyres, Fox suspension, a heavy-duty modular front bumper, a 360-degree off-road camera, and a unique interior with Code Orange accents and marine-grade vinyl-trimmed seats.

The trade-offs are part of the Bronco’s personality. The buying guide notes poor fuel economy, noise, and big blind spots among its drawbacks, and it also says the current generation is expensive, with a base MSRP of more than $50,000 in Canada. Even so, the Bronco’s combination of heritage styling, removable bodywork, and genuine off-road capability makes it appealing to buyers who want an SUV with real character and the hardware to match.
