New & Used 2026 Chevrolet Trax for Sale near Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel, QC

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Trax a good car?

The 2026 Chevrolet Trax earns an expert rating of 7.67/10. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

It’s a strong fit if you want a small, affordable crossover that blends compact-car manoeuvrability with SUV styling and utility. Chevrolet’s own positioning makes it clear that the Trax is meant to replace the role once filled by compact sedans and hatchbacks, and the expert review backs that up with praise for its stylish design, great handling, and impressive technology.

The trade-offs are just as clear: all-wheel drive not available and poor ergonomic design. Even so, the Trax’s value proposition remains compelling because it feels more polished than its price suggests, and the market shows 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Trax reliable?

The 2026 Chevrolet Trax is presented as a straightforward, low-cost small crossover with a conventional 1.2-litre turbocharged engine and a six-speed automatic, which helps keep the mechanical formula simple. The expert review says the engine doesn’t feel overstressed, stays on boost well, and avoids discernible turbo lag, while the chassis is described as well tuned and the ride as competent enough for everyday use.

Chevrolet also includes a three-year, 60,000-kilometre bumper-to-bumper limited warranty and a five-year, 100,000-kilometre powertrain limited warranty, which supports the ownership case for a budget-focused buyer. The fuel-economy result is less impressive than you might expect from a downsized engine, but the overall package still points to manageable day-to-day ownership.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the Trax’s value and simplicity do not fully offset its safety and packaging compromises if you plan to keep it for many years.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Chevrolet Trax?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 1RS is the base model and uses an 8-inch touchscreen, while higher trims get an 11-inch touchscreen, an all-digital 8-inch instrument cluster, and a six-speaker sound system. The 1RS also has cloth upholstery, while other trims use suede-like Evotex or a combination of the two.
• Powertrain: Every Trax uses a 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine with a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. There is no all-wheel drive, and no other engine is offered.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, automatic high beams, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear park assist, and a following distance indicator. Adaptive cruise control is available on higher trim levels.
• Infotainment: The 1RS gets an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto plus a four-speaker audio system. Higher trims upgrade to an 11-inch touchscreen, an all-digital 8-inch instrument cluster, and a six-speaker sound system.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates the Trax at 8.1 L/100 km combined, with 8.5 L/100 km in the city and 7.6 L/100 km on the highway.

Which 2026 Chevrolet Trax trim should I buy?

The 2026 Chevrolet Trax is offered in 4 trim levels: 1RS, LT, 2RS, and Activ.

Here's the short version:

• 1RS: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry price and still want the Trax’s core strengths, including wireless smartphone connectivity and the standard safety suite. It’s the trim to consider if you care most about affordability.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for many buyers because it adds the larger 11-inch touchscreen, the digital instrument cluster, and a more upscale-feeling cabin without jumping to the top of the range.
• 2RS: Choose this if you want the sportier RS look and the same larger-screen tech upgrades, along with the blacked-out styling details that set it apart.
• Activ: Pick this if you prefer the more rugged visual treatment, including black-painted 18-inch wheels, a black grille with chrome accents, and unique bumpers.

Adaptive cruise control is available on higher trim levels.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Chevrolet Trax?

This looks like a moderate, selective-buyer market, so you have some room to shop carefully rather than rushing into the first listing you see.

• Deal availability: 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 371 listings available.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Trax safe?

The 2026 Chevrolet Trax earns the lowest Poor rating in the IIHS updated moderate overlap front crash test, while also receiving a Good rating in the small overlap front test.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assist features include automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, automatic high beams, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear park assist, and a following distance indicator. Adaptive cruise control is available on higher trim levels.

Chevrolet also offers Teen Driver monitoring, which activates all available safety features, includes a shift interlock for the driver’s seatbelt, and lets parents monitor teen driving behaviour. The main caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard, and the crash-test picture is still incomplete and not especially reassuring.

Should I buy a 2026 Chevrolet Trax or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• The 2026 Trax keeps the focus on its core strengths, with only two new exterior colour options and no major redesign.

The bottom line: If you want the Trax’s mix of affordability, style, and technology, the 2026 model is an easy year to consider. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still make sense, but the 2026 keeps the formula intact and adds a couple of fresh colour choices without changing the basic value proposition.
