New & Used 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD for Sale near South Glengarry, ON

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD a good car?

The 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD is a purpose-built heavy-duty pickup that is meant to work hard rather than pretend to be a car. It stands out with aggressive styling, a huge bluff front end, and serious capability, including towing up to 16,300 kilograms and payload up to 3,300 kilograms. You can also configure it for maximum hauling strength with a single cab, rear-drive, dual-rear-wheel setup, and a gooseneck hitch.

It also brings a strong mechanical and technology package. You can choose between a 6.6-litre gas V8 with 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, or an optional Duramax turbodiesel V8 with 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque. Both use an Allison ten-speed automatic transmission. Useful trailering tech, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hotspot, SiriusXM satellite radio, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, park assist, and adaptive cruise control with trailer monitoring all add to its appeal.

That said, it is not trying to be the plushest truck in the class. The cabin has been criticised for being too basic compared with some rivals, and its driving dynamics and fuel economy lag behind Ford and Ram. Even so, if you value towing confidence, broad configuration choices, and a truck engineered first and foremost for heavy work, it has clear appeal. 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD reliable?

The 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD is presented as a heavy-duty pickup built first and foremost for serious work, with a strong mechanical package and a focus on capability. It uses proven truck hardware, including a 6.6-litre gas V8 or an optional Duramax turbodiesel V8, both paired with an Allison ten-speed automatic transmission.

It also offers useful trailering technology and available safety equipment, which supports confidence in day-to-day use and towing. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that this is a complex heavy-duty truck designed for demanding work, so wear and repair exposure can rise if it has spent its life towing or hauling at the limit.
