New & Used 2026 Chevrolet Colorado for Sale nearSault Ste. Marie, ON

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Colorado a good car?

Yes — 5/5 from owners and 6.7/10 from our experts. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

The 2026 Chevrolet Colorado makes a strong case for itself in the midsize pickup truck segment, especially if you want a straightforward, modern truck with a crew-cab, short-bed layout and a single powertrain. It stands out for its stylish design, fun-to-drive character, and easy-to-use technology.

The trade-offs are clear: poor fuel economy and interior materials that feel cheap are among its weaknesses, and the ergonomic design is also a drawback. Even so, it remains an impressive midsize truck overall, though Chevrolet says the Toyota Tacoma is more versatile and has a stronger reputation for long-term reliability.

42.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there is solid market availability.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Colorado reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Colorado is described as an impressive midsize truck overall, and Chevrolet positions it as a simple, modern package with one powertrain and a limited body-style range. Its dependability story is helped by the fact that the truck is mostly unchanged for 2026, aside from a few cosmetic and equipment updates.

Chevrolet also says the first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that its poor fuel economy and weaker safety results may matter more as the kilometres add up.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Chevrolet Colorado?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The WT is the foundation, while the Trail Boss adds off-road capability, the LT serves as the basis of the Z71, and the ZR2 brings even more features and extra off-roading hardware. The base truck can feel sparse inside, with flimsy carpeted mats and lots of plastic.
• Powertrain: Every 2026 Colorado uses a turbocharged 2.7-litre four-cylinder engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It makes 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, and fuel economy is poor, especially on more aggressive off-road setups.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist and Safety Package include forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a safe following distance indicator. Blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors are standard in Canada. A Technology Package adds adaptive cruise control, rear pedestrian alert, and a high-definition surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: You get an 11.3-inch touchscreen with Google built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, OnStar connected services, and a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot. An 11-inch digital driver display is also standard, and wireless smartphone charging is available.
• Fuel efficiency: The Colorado can return as little as 11.1 L/100 km in combined city and highway driving in RWD form, and our test vehicle averaged 13.4 L/100 km during testing. Chevrolet also says fuel economy is poor.

Which 2026 Chevrolet Colorado trim should I buy?

The 2026 Chevrolet Colorado is offered in 5 trim levels: WT, Trail Boss, LT, Z71, ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• WT: This is the value starting point if you want the Colorado’s core capability and can live with a more basic cabin. It is the foundation for the rest of the lineup.
• Trail Boss: This is the best-value trim for buyers who want the Colorado’s off-road character without jumping to the top end. It adds off-road capability, a lifted suspension, all-terrain tires, and off-road-focused hardware.
• LT: This trim serves as the basis of the Z71, so it is the stepping stone if you want to build toward a more equipped truck.
• Z71: This is the better choice if you want a more polished mid-range setup with stronger equipment than the lower trims.
• ZR2: Choose this if you want the most serious off-road hardware, including 33-inch mud-terrain tires and Multimatic DSSV dampers.

The Colorado’s Chevy Safety Assist suite and Safety Package are standard, and Canada also gets blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Should I buy a 2026 Chevrolet Colorado or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• Choose the 2026 if: 42.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

• Choose the 2026 if: Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

• Choose the 2026 if: It adds White Sands paint on Trail Boss and ZR2, a new Bronze Accent Package, and drops the snorkel and rubber bed mat options.

• Consider the 2025 if: It offers broad appeal, strong off-pavement focus, and a right-sized crew cab.

The bottom line: If you want the latest version of the Colorado and can find a well-priced example, the 2026 is the better default choice. If you are shopping carefully on price and want a similar formula, the 2025 remains a sensible alternative.
