New & Used 2026 Chevrolet Colorado for Sale near Sarnia, ON

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Colorado a good car?

The 2026 Chevrolet Colorado earns a 6.67/10 from our experts. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

It makes a strong case for itself if you want a straightforward midsize pickup with one powertrain, rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, and a crew-cab, short-bed layout. The Colorado also brings stylish design, fun-to-drive character, and easy-to-use technology, which helps it feel modern without being complicated.

The trade-offs are clear: poor fuel economy, interior materials that feel cheap, and poor ergonomic design. Even so, it remains impressive in most respects, and its market position suggests there are still plenty of shoppers cross-shopping it against other midsize trucks. Good and great deals account for 40.0% of listings.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Colorado reliable?

The 2026 Chevrolet Colorado is presented as a mostly unchanged truck for 2026, which can be reassuring if you prefer a familiar formula. Its single powertrain and simple lineup also reduce complexity compared with trucks that offer many engine choices.

From a durability standpoint, the turbocharged 2.7-litre four-cylinder is described as lively, but the truck’s poor fuel economy and the way it can feel strained when you ask for more speed suggest it may not be the most relaxed long-term companion. The Colorado’s straightforward setup and unchanged design should help, but used buyers should still pay close attention to how hard the truck was worked and whether maintenance was kept up.

If you’re buying used, the main long-term ownership risk is that the truck’s efficiency and refinement may wear on you faster than its mechanical simplicity helps.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Chevrolet Colorado?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The WT is the foundation, the Trail Boss adds off-road capability, the LT underpins the Z71, and the ZR2 sits at the top with even more features and extra off-roading hardware. The base truck can feel sparse compared with higher trims, especially in cabin presentation and equipment.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses the turbocharged 2.7-litre four-cylinder TurboMax with an eight-speed automatic. It makes 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, but fuel economy is poor, especially as tyres get bigger and suspension gets more aggressive.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist and Safety Package include forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a safe following distance indicator. In Canada, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors are also standard. A Technology Package adds adaptive cruise control, rear pedestrian alert, and a high-definition surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: You get an 11.3-inch touchscreen with Google built-in, plus wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, OnStar connected services, and a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot. An 11-inch digital driver display is also part of the setup.
• Fuel efficiency: The truck can return as little as 11.1 L/100 km in combined city and highway driving in RWD form, and the test truck averaged 13.4 L/100 km during evaluation. The window sticker figure mentioned for the test vehicle was 13.1 L/100 km combined.

Which 2026 Chevrolet Colorado trim should I buy?

The 2026 Chevrolet Colorado is offered in 5 trim levels: WT, Trail Boss, LT, Z71, ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• WT: This is the value play if you want the Colorado’s core capability at the lowest entry point. It gives you the basic truck formula and leaves room to add 4WD and other equipment if you need them.
• Trail Boss: This is the best-value trim for buyers who want the Colorado’s off-road personality without jumping to the top of the range. It adds off-road-tuned suspension, a five-centimetre factory lift, a wider stance, all-terrain tyres, Off-Road and Terrain driving modes, and hill descent control.
• LT: This trim serves as the basis for the Z71, so it makes sense if you want a more mainstream starting point before moving up the ladder.
• Z71: This is the trim to target if you want a better-equipped Colorado with a more polished feel than the lower trims, while still staying below the hardcore off-road models.
• ZR2: Choose this if you want the most off-road hardware, including 33-inch mud-terrain tyres and Multimatic DSSV dampers.

The Colorado’s Chevy Safety Assist suite and Safety Package are standard, and Canada also gets blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Chevrolet Colorado?

The used Colorado market looks reasonably favourable right now, especially if you’re willing to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 40.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 65 listings available.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Colorado safe?

The Colorado earns three-star protection in side-impact collision testing for the driver and front passenger seating positions, and it has three-star rollover resistance with RWD and 4WD. The IIHS gave the Colorado’s Chevy Safety Assist systems a “Poor” front crash prevention rating.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevy Safety Assist and Safety Package include forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a safe following distance indicator. In Canada, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors are also standard. A Technology Package adds adaptive cruise control, rear pedestrian alert, and a high-definition surround-view camera system.

The main caveat is the disappointing crash-test performance and the poor front crash prevention result, so safety-conscious used buyers should prioritise trims and packages that add the most driver-assistance coverage.

Should I buy a 2026 Chevrolet Colorado or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 40.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• It keeps the Colorado’s simple lineup, modern tech, and mostly unchanged formula.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It offers a strong midsize-truck package with a special emphasis on off-pavement performance.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version of the Colorado’s straightforward formula, the 2026 is the cleaner choice. If you’re shopping mainly on value and want a similar truck with a strong off-road focus, the 2025 is worth a look.
