New & Used 2026 Acura MDX for Sale nearKingston, ON

Is the 2026 Acura MDX a good car?

The 2026 Acura MDX earns a 7.7/10 from our experts. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

It’s a strong fit if you want a refined three-row crossover that prioritises paved-road comfort, quietness, and easy-to-use technology over rugged capability. The MDX also brings good utility and a quality feel, and Acura’s focus on on-road ride and handling gives it a more engaging demeanour than many family SUVs.

The trade-offs are clear: the third row is cramped, fuel economy is poor, and there’s no hybrid option. If those compromises work for you, the MDX remains an appealing luxury-family choice, and 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2026 Acura MDX reliable?

The 2026 Acura MDX is described as reliable, and Acura’s expert summary reinforces that it remains a comfortable, quiet, and well-rounded SUV with a strong quality feel. Its 3.5-litre V6, 10-speed automatic, and SH-AWD system are presented as proven, everyday-friendly hardware, and the overall package is aimed at long-term, on-road use rather than complexity.

Acura also makes ownership easier with a straightforward cabin layout and a technology suite that is meant to be intuitive rather than fussy. The first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that poor fuel economy and the lack of a hybrid option may make it more expensive to live with over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Acura MDX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Tech, A-Spec, Platinum Elite A-Spec, and Type S Ultra trims differ most in styling and equipment. The base trim gets the core MDX formula, while higher trims add features such as a head-up display, quilted leather upholstery, and more upscale exterior detailing.
• Powertrain: Most models use a 3.5-litre V6 with 290 horsepower, a 10-speed automatic, and Acura’s Integrated Dynamics System. The Type S Ultra swaps in a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 with 355 hp, plus adaptive air suspension.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch includes forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, lane centring assist, and adaptive cruise control with traffic-jam assist. Blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high-beam headlights, and parking sensors with low-speed braking are also standard, while more expensive variants offer a surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: You get a 12.3-inch digital instrument display and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, Amazon Alexa Built-in, and Google Built-in are included, and the system is designed to be easy to use.
• Fuel efficiency: The official Natural Resources Canada estimate is 11.2 litres per 100 kilometres combined, and the Type S Ultra is rated at 12.4 L/100 km.

Which 2026 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2026 Acura MDX is offered in 4 trim levels: Tech, A-Spec, Platinum Elite A-Spec, and Type S Ultra.

Here's the short version:

• Tech: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the MDX’s core strengths without paying for extra luxury features. It still gives you the standard AWD setup and the full AcuraWatch safety package, making it the value-focused choice.
• A-Spec: This trim is the better pick if you want a sportier look and a more distinctive cabin without jumping too far up the price ladder. It adds the styling flair that helps the MDX stand out, while keeping the same basic mechanical package.
• Platinum Elite A-Spec: This is the best-value trim if you want the richest mix of comfort, technology, and appearance upgrades. It adds the head-up display and more upscale touches, making it the most complete all-rounder for many buyers.
• Type S Ultra: Choose this only if you want the most powerful and performance-oriented MDX. It brings the twin-turbo V6 and adaptive air suspension, so it’s the trim for buyers who care most about extra punch and a more advanced chassis.

AcuraWatch is standard across the lineup, while the more expensive variants add a surround-view camera system.

Is the 2026 Acura MDX safe?

The 2026 Acura MDX has incomplete crash-test coverage for this model year. The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration rates only the FWD models not sold in Canada, which earn an overall five-star rating, and the nearly identical 2025 model was an IIHS Top Safety Pick.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

AcuraWatch bundles forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, lane centring assist, and adaptive cruise control with traffic-jam assist. Blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high-beam headlights, and parking sensors with low-speed braking are also standard, while more expensive variants offer a surround-view camera system.

One caveat is that the lane departure warning can trigger steering wheel wobble, and lane centring assist can cycle on and off on winding roads.

Should I buy a 2026 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• It keeps the refreshed formula and adds only minor updates, so you’re buying a proven, carryover package.

Consider the 2025 if:

• The refreshed model brings a more appealing, intuitive, and sophisticated user experience.

The bottom line: If you want the latest version of the MDX and you’re comfortable with its fuel economy and third-row limitations, the 2026 is the straightforward choice. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2025 is worth a look because it delivers the refreshed MDX formula with similar strengths.
