New & Used 2026 Acura MDX for SaleNationwide

Is the 2026 Acura MDX a good car?

The 2026 Acura MDX earns a 7.7/10 from our experts. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

It comes across as a stylish, comfortable, and easy-to-live-with three-row luxury SUV that is aimed squarely at on-road use rather than off-road adventures. The cabin is quiet and practical, and the technology is a strong point, which helps the MDX feel upscale without being difficult to use.

The main trade-offs are its cramped third row and poor fuel economy, plus there’s no hybrid option. Even so, if you want a well-rounded luxury crossover with a strong road-going character, it makes a convincing case.

32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Acura MDX reliable?

The 2026 Acura MDX is described as reliable, and it is presented as a vehicle that feels solid and structurally robust in daily driving. Its powertrain is also portrayed as responsive and well-behaved, with a transmission that behaves well and brakes that are easy to modulate.

Acura’s driver-assistance systems are described as more refined and accurate than in previous years, and the adaptive cruise control avoids the overly aggressive slowing that can frustrate drivers in some vehicles. The MDX also benefits from a straightforward, easy-to-use cabin layout that should help reduce day-to-day ownership friction.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the MDX’s fuel economy remains unimpressive, especially if you plan to rack up a lot of kilometres.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Acura MDX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Tech, A-Spec, Platinum Elite A-Spec, and Type S Ultra each bring different equipment and styling. The base trim gets standard AWD, while the higher trims add features such as a head-up display and a surround-view camera system.
• Powertrain: Most models use a 3.5-litre V6 with 290 horsepower, a 10-speed automatic, and driving modes including Snow, Comfort, Normal, and Sport. The Type S Ultra uses a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 with 355 hp.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch includes forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, lane centring assist, and adaptive cruise control with traffic-jam assist. Blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high-beam headlights, and parking sensors with low-speed braking are also standard.
• Infotainment: You get a 12.3-inch digital instrument display and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, Amazon Alexa Built-in, and Google Built-in are included, and the more expensive variants add a 10.5-inch head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: The official Natural Resources Canada estimate is 11.2 litres per 100 kilometres combined, and the Type S Ultra is rated at 12.4 L/100 km.

Which 2026 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2026 Acura MDX is offered in 4 trim levels: Tech, A-Spec, Platinum Elite A-Spec, and Type S Ultra.

Here's the short version:

• Tech: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core MDX experience with standard AWD, the V6 powertrain, AcuraWatch, and the 12.3-inch infotainment setup. It makes sense if you want the MDX’s fundamentals without paying for extras.
• A-Spec: This trim adds a sportier look and the leather and artificial suede treatment noted in the Canadian lineup. It suits you if styling matters and you want a more distinctive cabin without jumping to the top end.
• Platinum Elite A-Spec: This is the best-value choice if you want the richest mix of comfort, tech, and appearance upgrades. It adds quilted leather upholstery, a head-up display, and the surround-view camera system, making it the most complete all-rounder.
• Type S Ultra: Choose this if you want the most powerful engine and the most performance-focused MDX. It is the one to buy if you care most about stronger acceleration and the extra hardware that comes with the top trim.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, while the more expensive variants add the surround-view camera system.
