New & Used 2026 Acura MDX for Sale nearElliot Lake, ON

Is the 2026 Acura MDX a good car?

The 2026 Acura MDX earns 7.67/10 from our experts. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

It fits you well if you want a refined three-row crossover that prioritizes paved-road comfort, quietness, and easy-to-use tech over off-road ability. The MDX also brings good utility and a quality feel, and Acura’s value positioning against other midsize three-row rivals helps its case.

The trade-offs are clear: the third row is cramped, and fuel economy is poor. There’s also no hybrid option, which limits its efficiency advantage.

With 23.1% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market still gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Acura MDX reliable?

The 2026 Acura MDX is described as reliable and intended for on-road use, with a comfortable, quiet, and solid-feeling character. Acura’s driver-assistance systems are also presented as more refined and accurate than in past years.

Its 3.5-litre V6 is described as responsive, quick to accelerate, and good-sounding, while the transmission behaves well and the brakes are easy to modulate. Acura also says the MDX is one of the most affordable models in its segment, which can help keep ownership manageable.

If you plan to keep one long term, the main risk is that the MDX’s poor fuel economy and lack of a hybrid option may make it less appealing over time for cost-conscious used buyers.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Acura MDX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Tech, A-Spec, Platinum Elite A-Spec, and Type S Ultra each bring different levels of style and equipment. The base trim is the one most likely to leave you without some of the richer cabin touches and convenience features found higher up the range.
• Powertrain: Most models use a 3.5-litre V6 with 290 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque, while the Type S Ultra upgrades to a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 with 355 hp and 354 lb-ft. All models use a 10-speed automatic, and the MDX is tuned for paved-road comfort more than off-road use.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch includes forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, lane centring assist, and adaptive cruise control with traffic-jam assist. Blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high-beam headlights, and parking sensors with low-speed braking are also standard, while the more expensive variants offer a surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: You get a 12.3-inch digital instrument display and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, plus wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, Amazon Alexa Built-in, and Google Built-in. A 10.5-inch head-up display is fitted to Platinum Elite A-Spec and Type S Ultra models.
• Fuel efficiency: The official Natural Resources Canada estimate is 11.2 litres per 100 kilometres combined, or 12.4 L/100 km for the Type S Ultra. In testing, the MDX used 13.1 L/100 km on one evaluation loop and averaged 12.3 L/100 km over 250 kilometres.

Which 2026 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2026 Acura MDX is offered in 4 trim levels: Tech, A-Spec, Platinum Elite A-Spec, and Type S Ultra.

Here's the short version:

• Tech: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core MDX experience with standard AWD, the 12.3-inch infotainment system, wireless smartphone integration, and the full AcuraWatch safety suite. It makes sense if you want the MDX’s fundamentals without paying for extra luxury or performance features.
• A-Spec: This trim adds a sportier look and, in Canada, includes the leather and artificial suede treatment noted in the test vehicle description. It suits you if style matters and you want a more distinctive cabin and exterior without jumping to the pricier upper trims.
• Platinum Elite A-Spec: This is the best-value trim if you want the richest mix of comfort and tech. It adds quilted leather upholstery, a 10.5-inch head-up display, and the more upscale presentation that makes the MDX feel closest to a premium family SUV.
• Type S Ultra: Choose this if you want the most powerful MDX, with the twin-turbo V6, adaptive air suspension, and the most performance-focused setup in the range. It’s the right pick if you care more about stronger acceleration and added hardware than value.

The more expensive variants offer a surround-view camera system, which is worth keeping in mind if parking visibility matters to you.

Is the 2026 Acura MDX safe?

The 2026 Acura MDX’s crash-test ratings are incomplete, but the nearly identical 2025 model was an IIHS Top Safety Pick. The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration rates only the FWD models not sold in Canada, and they earn an overall rating of five stars.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

AcuraWatch bundles forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, lane centring assist, and adaptive cruise control with traffic-jam assist. Blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high-beam headlights, and parking sensors with low-speed braking are also standard.

A few caveats are worth noting. The steering wheel wobble that accompanies lane departure warnings can be noticeable, and lane centring assist can cycle on and off on winding roads. More expensive variants add a surround-view camera system.

Should I buy a 2026 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 23.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• It keeps the refreshed MDX formula intact, with polished on-road manners, easy-to-use tech, and value against rivals.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It brings the refreshed design and user-friendly tech in a similarly polished package.

The bottom line: If you want the latest version of the MDX’s refined, comfortable, and tech-friendly formula, the 2026 is the straightforward choice. If you’re price-sensitive, the 2025 is the smart alternative because it delivers the same core strengths with a similar overall appeal.
