Is the 2025 Toyota Sienna a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Toyota Sienna earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.33/10 expert rating.

The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

It pairs a standard hybrid powertrain with practical family-friendly packaging, and it also offers available all-wheel drive for extra traction. The trade-offs are clear: the transmission can be irritating, and outright load space trails some rivals.

With 29.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Toyota Sienna reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Sienna is positioned as a practical, efficiency-focused minivan, and its hybrid setup is aimed at reducing fuel use in everyday driving. The expert evaluation also highlights a quiet highway experience and a smooth ride, both of which support easy day-to-day ownership.

Its hybrid powertrain is described as straightforward, and the available all-wheel-drive system adds useful traction without changing the Sienna’s family-first mission. Toyota also includes a thoughtful maintenance perk in the connected-services package: Service Connect and Safety Connect are free to use for up to 10 years.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Sienna’s real-world fuel economy and cargo capacity may not fully match your expectations.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Toyota Sienna?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes LE, XLE, XSE, and Limited, with the Limited and Platinum package adding more upscale cabin touches and equipment. The entry-level LE has fewer amenities than higher trims, so you should check whether the features you want are standard or reserved for a pricier version.
• Powertrain: Every 2025 Sienna uses a hybrid system with a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine and a CVT. Front-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is available and adds a rear-mounted electric motor when needed.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, and adaptive cruise control. All Siennas also get blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: Higher-spec models get a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 12.3-inch touchscreen, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. OTA-style connected services are part of the Toyota Audio Multimedia setup, but some features depend on active subscriptions.
• Fuel efficiency: The official combined fuel consumption figure is 6.6 L/100 km for the FWD test model, while the evaluation loop returned 8.9 L/100 km combined.

Which 2025 Toyota Sienna trim should I buy?

The 2025 Toyota Sienna is offered in 4 trim levels: LE, XLE, XSE, Limited.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the trim to consider if you want the lowest entry point into the Sienna lineup, but you should expect fewer convenience and tech features than the higher trims.
• XLE: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it balances family-friendly equipment with a more approachable price than the upper trims.
• XSE: Choose this if you want a racier look and a sport-tuned suspension, but keep your expectations realistic about driving excitement.
• Limited: This is the most upscale mainstream trim, with the richest tech and comfort content, including the larger displays and premium audio setup.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get the core driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Toyota Sienna?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to compare listings carefully before committing.

• Deal availability: 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 259 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.85% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $58,301 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Toyota Sienna's resale value?

The current average of $59,181 CAD sits slightly below last year's $63,532 CAD.

That softer pricing trend can help you if you are buying now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if prices continue to ease. The Sienna’s value story is still supported by its hybrid efficiency, practical packaging, and broad family appeal. If demand stays steady, those strengths should help cushion depreciation better than a less versatile minivan.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Toyota Sienna safe?

The 2025 Sienna earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, but it also scores four-star ratings in frontal crash and three-star protection for the driver in a frontal impact.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 is the standard driver-assistance suite, and it includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beam headlights. All Siennas also include blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.

A key caveat is that the Sienna does not use Toyota’s newer TSS 3.0 system, and the expert evaluation notes that adaptive cruise control can still require close attention in urban traffic.

Should I buy a 2025 Toyota Sienna or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.85% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds available all-wheel drive and a more refined tech setup.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $55,271 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $59,181 CAD average.
• It is a comfy, efficiency-focused hybrid with plenty of safety features.

The bottom line: If you want the newer model year with softened pricing and strong tech appeal, the 2025 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2024 remains the smarter value play.
