Is the 2025 RAM 3500 a good car?

The 2025 RAM 3500 stands out as a heavy-duty truck that has moved well beyond its workhorse roots. It combines serious capability with a much more upscale feel than earlier generations, and its appeal is tied to the way it blends towing strength, payload capacity, and everyday usability. The latest Ram 3500’s competitive advantage is its powerful Cummins turbo diesel engine, which provides class-leading maximum towing and payload capacities. It also offers the kind of technology many buyers now expect in a daily driver, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, large touchscreen infotainment systems, cameras, and a broad set of standard safety features.

For you, that means this truck makes the most sense if you need serious hauling ability but still want modern convenience and a more refined cabin than a bare-bones work truck. The broad range of configurations also gives you flexibility if you need a regular, crew, mega, or chassis-cab layout, along with long or short bed options.

With 33.3% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have a meaningful share of the market to shop from.

Is the 2025 RAM 3500 reliable?

The 2025 RAM 3500 is presented as a heavy-duty truck with a strong focus on capability, everyday usability, and a more upscale feel than earlier generations. Its appeal is built around the Cummins turbo diesel engine, broad towing and payload strength, and the kind of technology and standard safety features many buyers expect in a daily driver.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that this is a very large, highly capable truck that can be expensive to own if you do not genuinely need its size and heavy-duty hardware.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 RAM 3500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and focused.

• Deal availability: 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 360 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.75% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $85,145 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 RAM 3500's resale value?

The current average of $85,145 CAD sits slightly below last year's $96,483 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you as a buyer today but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, you reduce the risk of overpaying in a segment where values have already softened. For a future seller, the key will be how well the truck is equipped and maintained, since buyers in this segment tend to focus on capability and condition.

Should I buy a 2025 RAM 3500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.75% compared with last year.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of capability, modern tech, and current-market availability, the 2025 is the primary year to target. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may give you a lower entry point, but the 2025 remains the better choice when you want a well-equipped heavy-duty truck with a broader pool of listings to compare.
