Is the 2025 RAM 3500 a good car?

The 2025 RAM 3500 stands out as a heavy-duty truck that has moved well beyond its workhorse roots. It combines serious capability with a much stronger emphasis on luxury and technology, including a more aerodynamic design, LED lighting, a stronger frame, new suspension, and a new transmission for the Hemi models.

Its biggest calling card is capability: when properly equipped, it can tow more than 15,875 kilograms and carry nearly 3,600 kilograms of payload. For buyers who need a truck that can work hard without feeling bare-bones, that blend of capability, comfort, and tech is the RAM 3500’s main appeal.

27.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 RAM 3500 reliable?

It combines serious capability with a much stronger emphasis on luxury and technology, including a more aerodynamic design, LED lighting, a stronger frame, new suspension, and a new transmission for the Hemi models.

Inside, it feels far more like a modern daily driver than a stripped-down commercial tool, with a revised instrument cluster, a rotary gear selector, and available features such as a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, a 12-inch vertical infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 750-watt Harman Kardon 17-speaker audio system.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that this is a large, complex truck best suited to people who will actually use its size and towing strength.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what you want.

• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.09% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $86,087 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 RAM 3500's resale value?

The current average of $86,367 CAD sits slightly below last year's $99,371 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently now. If you plan to sell later, the truck’s strong capability and premium equipment should help it hold appeal, but the current softer pricing means your resale outcome will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the truck is equipped.

Should I buy a 2025 RAM 3500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 27.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.09% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better pick if you want the most current version of this heavy-duty truck’s capability-and-comfort formula and you can take advantage of the softer pricing. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth considering, especially if you can find a cleaner example or a lower asking price that better fits your budget.
