Used 2025 Nissan Altima for Sale near Vankleek Hill, ON

Is the 2025 Nissan Altima a good car?

Yes — 5/5 from owners and 6.17/10 from our experts. The standout strength is Form and function at 8/10.

The 2025 Nissan Altima’s appeal is rooted in a traditional midsize-sedan formula that is getting harder to find. In Canada, you get standard all-wheel drive, which is a real advantage if you want extra confidence in poor weather without moving to a crossover. It also brings terrific front seats, a competitively priced trim walk, and easy-to-use technology, while its stylish design gives it a bit more personality than the average family sedan.

The trade-offs are just as clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, the interior materials feel cheap, and the technology is outdated. Even so, if you want a comfortable, straightforward sedan with standard AWD in Canada, the Altima still makes sense for you.

33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Nissan Altima reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Altima’s reliability case is helped by its simple, familiar mechanical setup and its focus on everyday usability rather than complexity. It uses a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine, standard AWD, and a CVT, and the driving experience is described as unremarkable in a good way: it goes about its business without fanfare, the CVT rarely irritates, and the car is quieter than expected.

Nissan also positions the Altima as a straightforward daily driver, and the official fuel-consumption figures line up closely with real-world testing. If you’re shopping used, the main long-term ownership risk is that this is an ageing model with dated technology and a market position that may make future support and resale less reassuring than on newer rivals.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Nissan Altima?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Canadian lineup includes S, SR, SR Premium, and Platinum. The base trims are simpler inside, while SR Premium adds worthwhile upgrades such as leather seats and a better infotainment setup. If you want the best value, SR Premium is the trim that most clearly improves the cabin and tech experience without jumping all the way to the top model.
• Powertrain: Every Canadian Altima uses a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with standard AWD and a CVT. It makes 182 hp and 178 lb-ft of torque, and the car is tuned more for calm commuting than excitement.
• Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, automatic rear braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. SR Premium adds ProPilot Assist 1.0 with adaptive cruise control, stop-and-go capability, and lane-centring assist, while Platinum adds a surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: S and SR use an 8-inch touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a six-speaker stereo. SR Premium and Platinum upgrade to a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, NissanConnect services, and navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: The Altima AWD should burn 8.2 litres per 100 kilometres in S trim and 8.4 L/100 km in other trims in combined driving.

Which 2025 Nissan Altima trim should I buy?

The 2025 Nissan Altima is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SR, SR Premium, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the most affordable way into the Altima and gives you the standard AWD setup, the basic infotainment system, and the full Safety Shield 360 suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest entry price and can live with the simpler cabin.
• SR: This trim adds a sportier look and feel, plus 19-inch wheels, sport-bolstered front seats, and a wireless charging pad. It is the right pick if you want a little more style without moving up too far in price.
• SR Premium: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, NissanConnect services, navigation, the nine-speaker Bose audio system, leather seats, and ProPilot Assist 1.0.
• Platinum: Choose this if you want the most upscale Altima, including the larger infotainment system, Bose audio, and the surround-view camera system.

Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard on every trim, while ProPilot Assist 1.0 is reserved for SR Premium and Platinum.

Is the 2025 Nissan Altima safe?

The Altima earns five-star ratings overall from NHTSA, including a five-star rollover resistance rating. It also gets a Poor rating in updated IIHS evaluations related to side impact protection and front crash prevention, and a Marginal result in an updated moderate offset frontal-impact test.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard on every Altima, and it includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, automatic rear braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. SR Premium adds ProPilot Assist 1.0 with adaptive cruise control, stop-and-go capability, and lane-centring assist, while Platinum adds a surround-view camera system.

One caveat to keep in mind is that the automatic rear braking system is too sensitive and can make parking in tight spaces more difficult.

Should I buy a 2025 Nissan Altima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Nissan adds an SR Premium trim to the Canadian lineup to strengthen the Altima’s appeal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• It offers an attractive starting price and standard AWD in Canada.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version of the Altima with the updated Canadian trim walk, the 2025 is the one to target. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2024 remains a sensible alternative because it keeps the core strengths intact while potentially costing less on the used market.
