Used 2025 Nissan Altima for Sale nearRed Deer, AB

Is the 2025 Nissan Altima a good car?

Yes — you rate it 5/5, and the expert rating is 6.17/10. The standout strength is Form and function at 8/10.

The 2025 Nissan Altima is built for you if you want a midsize sedan that still makes sense in a crossover-heavy market. It stands out for its stylish design, comfortable front seats, easy-to-use technology, and standard AWD in Canada. It also has a competitively priced trim walk, which helps it stay relevant for shoppers who still prefer a sedan.

The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, the interior materials feel cheap, and the technology is outdated. Those drawbacks matter because you can find more room and a taller driving position in many crossovers, even if they usually cost more and are less efficient.

With 37.1% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Nissan Altima reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Altima is presented as a familiar, straightforward sedan rather than a complicated one, and its standard AWD plus conventional 2.5-litre four-cylinder setup suggest a simple ownership experience. Its driving character is described as unremarkable in a good way: it goes about its business without fanfare, the CVT rarely irritates, and it is quieter than expected.

You also get a useful ownership perk in the form of standard AWD in Canada, which can add confidence in winter driving. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the car’s dated technology and modest performance may feel less satisfying over time than its core reliability story.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Nissan Altima?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S, SR, SR Premium, and Platinum trims differ most clearly in cabin equipment and safety/tech content. Base trims miss worthwhile upgrades such as leather seats and the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen, while SR Premium adds the more desirable interior and technology package.
• Powertrain: Every Canadian Altima uses a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with standard AWD and a CVT. It makes 182 hp and 178 lb-ft of torque, and the car is tuned more for calm commuting than excitement.
• Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, automatic rear braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. SR Premium adds ProPilot Assist 1.0, and Platinum adds a surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: The base system uses an 8-inch touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a six-speaker stereo. SR Premium and Platinum upgrade to a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, NissanConnect services, and navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: The Altima AWD should burn 8.2 litres per 100 kilometres in S trim and 8.4 L/100 km in other trims in combined driving.

Which 2025 Nissan Altima trim should I buy?

The 2025 Nissan Altima is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SR, SR Premium, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry price and standard AWD, but you give up the nicer infotainment and cabin upgrades found higher up the range.
• SR: Choose this if you want a sportier look and feel, including 19-inch wheels and sport-bolstered front seats, while still keeping the Altima’s core value proposition intact.
• SR Premium: This is the best-value trim. It adds the better 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, NissanConnect services, navigation, the nine-speaker Bose audio system, leather seats, and ProPilot Assist 1.0.
• Platinum: Pick this if you want the most fully equipped Altima, including the surround-view camera system on top of the SR Premium content.

Choosing the SR Premium trim level is also your ticket to the best safety features available for the Altima.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Nissan Altima?

Is the 2025 Nissan Altima safe?

The 2025 Nissan Altima earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, including a five-star rollover resistance rating. It gets a Poor rating in updated side impact protection and front crash prevention evaluations, and a Marginal rating in an updated moderate offset frontal-impact test.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard on every Altima, and it includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, automatic rear braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. SR Premium adds ProPilot Assist 1.0, which combines adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability and lane-centring assist, while Platinum adds a surround-view camera system.

The main caution for used buyers is that the Altima’s crash-test performance is mixed despite its strong standard safety equipment.

Should I buy a 2025 Nissan Altima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Nissan adds an SR Premium trim to refresh the lineup and improve the tech story.

Consider the 2024 if:

• It offers value, standard AWD, and an upgraded touchscreen on higher trims.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest version of the Altima with the updated trim strategy, the 2025 is the better target. If you are shopping mainly on price and want a familiar sedan with standard AWD, the 2024 remains a sensible alternative for budget-focused buyers.
