Used 2025 Nissan Altima for Sale nearAbbotsford, BC

Is the 2025 Nissan Altima a good car?

Yes — you may find the 2025 Nissan Altima appealing if you want a traditional midsize sedan with a lower driving position, standard AWD in Canada, and a straightforward trim walk. It earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.2/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 8/10.

The Altima’s strongest case is practical rather than exciting: it has terrific front seats, is comfortable and easy to use, and keeps the cabin and controls simple enough for everyday driving. The trade-offs are clear, though: performance is fairly pedestrian, the interior materials feel cheap, and the technology is outdated. If you want a sedan instead of a crossover, that balance may still work for you. Good and great deals account for 39.1% of listings, which suggests there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Nissan Altima reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Altima is presented as a familiar, straightforward midsize sedan with standard AWD in Canada and a conventional 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine, which supports an uncomplicated ownership experience. Its driving character is described as unremarkable in a way that suggests it goes about daily duties without drama, and the CVT is said to rarely irritate. Nissan also positions the car as easy to live with, and the base maintenance setup is simple rather than complex.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the model is ageing and may be nearing the end of its run, so you should pay close attention to condition and maintenance history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Nissan Altima?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Canadian lineup includes S, SR, SR Premium, and Platinum. The base trims are simpler inside, while SR Premium adds the more desirable cabin and tech upgrades; the Platinum goes further with the top equipment set.
• Powertrain: Every Canadian Altima uses a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with standard AWD and a CVT. It is tuned for everyday use rather than excitement, and fuel economy is decent rather than class-leading.
• Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, automatic rear braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. ProPilot Assist 1.0 is reserved for SR Premium, and the Platinum adds a surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: The S and SR use an 8-inch touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a six-speaker stereo. SR Premium and Platinum upgrade to a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, NissanConnect services, and navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: The Altima AWD should burn 8.2 L/100 km in S trim and 8.4 L/100 km in other trims in combined driving.

Which 2025 Nissan Altima trim should I buy?

The 2025 Nissan Altima is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SR, SR Premium, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Altima formula with standard AWD and the basic infotainment setup. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model, but it is the least appealing if you care about cabin polish or tech.
• SR: This trim adds a sportier look and feel, including 19-inch wheels and sport-bolstered front seats. It is a reasonable step up if you want a little more style, but it still uses the simpler 8-inch touchscreen.
• SR Premium: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it adds the better 12.3-inch infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, NissanConnect services, navigation, the nine-speaker Bose audio system, and ProPilot Assist 1.0. It also addresses the Altima’s biggest weakness: outdated technology.
• Platinum: Choose this if you want the most fully equipped Altima, including the upgraded infotainment and the surround-view camera system. It is the most premium version, but the SR Premium already captures much of the meaningful upgrade value.

Choosing the SR Premium trim level is also your ticket to the best safety features available for the Altima.

Is the 2025 Nissan Altima safe?

The Altima earns five-star ratings from NHTSA, including a five-star rollover resistance rating. It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard on every Altima, and it includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, automatic rear braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. ProPilot Assist 1.0 is available on SR Premium and pairs adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability and lane-centring assist, while the Platinum adds a surround-view camera system.

There are also important caveats. IIHS gives the Altima a Poor rating in updated side-impact protection and front crash prevention evaluations, and it gets a Marginal result in an updated moderate offset frontal-impact test. The automatic rear braking system is also described as overly sensitive in tight parking situations.

Should I buy a 2025 Nissan Altima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 39.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Nissan adds an SR Premium trim to the Canadian lineup for better tech and safety features.

Consider the 2024 if:

• It offers a sensible, practical package with standard AWD and easy-to-use technology.

The bottom line: If you want the newest Altima with the updated Canadian trim walk and the strongest mix of value and equipment, the 2025 is the better pick. If you are shopping mainly on price, the 2024 remains worth a look because it delivers much of the same practical appeal.
