How much does the 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 cost?

Prices have softened 2.55% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 202 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating, which points to broad appeal for shoppers who want a compact car with more polish than most rivals. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

It stands out as a small, affordable, efficient car that feels more refined than many competitors, with stylish design and enjoyable driving dynamics. The trade-offs are a cramped back seat and poor rear visibility, and the technology experience is dated.

For buyers who want a compact car that feels more special than a typical commuter, that balance is compelling. The market also shows 31.2% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 is presented as a polished, well-rounded compact car that ages gracefully, with quality, refinement, sophistication, safety, and enjoyable driving dynamics as recurring strengths. Its standard 2.5-litre engine is described as smooth, quiet, and refined across the rev range, which supports the impression of a durable, easy-to-live-with powertrain.

Mazda also includes a complimentary two-year subscription to Mazda Connected Services in Canada, which adds some ownership value. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic dependability and more about living with its dated technology and tight rear-seat packaging.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Mazda MAZDA3?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: GX, GS, GT, and the hatchback-exclusive Suna Edition are the trims explicitly named here. The GX is the entry point, while GS adds available AWD and GT brings more equipment, including wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; the Suna Edition sits at the top of the hatchback range and is based on the GT Turbo.
• Powertrain: The non-turbo engine is a 2.5-litre four-cylinder with 191 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque. Turbo models raise output to 250 hp and 320 lb-ft on premium fuel, or 227 hp and 310 lb-ft on regular fuel.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and driver attention alert. Stop-and-go capability is not included with the manual-transmission test car, and lane centring assist is also unavailable.
• Infotainment: Mazda Connect uses an 8.8-inch or 10.25-inch display depending on version. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto can be used by touch, and GT trim or higher adds wireless connectivity for those platforms.
• Fuel efficiency: The manual transmission is rated at 7.8 L/100 km combined.

Which 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 is offered in 4 trim levels: GX, GS, GT, and Suna Edition.

Here's the short version:

• GX: This is the entry trim, so it makes sense if you want the Mazda3’s core refinement and driving character at the lowest starting point.
• GS: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds available AWD while staying below the more expensive turbo and special-edition models.
• GT: Choose this if you want the richer equipment mix, including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus the option of the turbocharged engine.
• Suna Edition: This hatchback-only top model is for buyers who want the most distinctive version of the Mazda3, built from the GT Turbo foundation.

Safety equipment is strong across the range, with a long list of standard driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Mazda MAZDA3?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 202 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.55% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $27,417 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Mazda MAZDA3's resale value?

The current average of $28,358 CAD sits slightly below last year's $29,101 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more favourable for buyers, which can make resale planning more important if you expect to sell later. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure when it comes time to move on.

The Mazda3’s appeal should help support future demand, especially because it blends style, refinement, and enjoyable driving dynamics in a way many compact cars do not. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 safe?

The 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 earns a “Top Safety Pick+” rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the highest possible rating, and the maximum five stars in all National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) crash tests, including rollover resistance.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and driver attention alert. Because of the manual transmission in our test car, stop-and-go capability is not included, and lane centring assist is also unavailable.

One caveat is that the lane departure warning system can issue inaccurate alerts when lanes narrow, and it may reduce speed too aggressively in sharper curves. Even so, the Mazda3’s overall safety package is a major strength.

Should I buy a 2025 Mazda MAZDA3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.55% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• GT and higher trims get Amazon Alexa Built-in, while the Sport hatchback adds the Suna Edition as the top model.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $26,641 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $28,358 CAD average.
• It offers a wide range of configurations in a compact package.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It brings a cabin that could easily be mistaken for entry-level luxury fare.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the best all-around pick if you want the latest mix of safety, refinement, and trim availability. If price is your top priority, the 2024 is the smarter value play, while the 2026 is worth a look if you want the freshest take on the same upscale compact-car formula.
