Used 2025 Mazda CX-5 for Sale nearWaterloo, ON

How much does the 2025 Mazda CX-5 cost?

Prices have softened 3.27% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 906 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Mazda CX-5 a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 5/5 user-rated SUV with an expert rating of 6.5/10. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

The 2025 Mazda CX-5 is aimed at you if you want practicality without giving up driving enjoyment, and it delivers that in an attractive, upscale package. Its stylish design, fun-to-drive character, and premium interior materials are the main reasons it continues to appeal.

The trade-offs are clear: rear-seat space and cargo capacity are limited, and fuel economy trails many rivals. If you value a more engaging drive and a more premium feel, those compromises may be acceptable.

Just 19.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market looks selective rather than especially bargain-heavy.

Is the 2025 Mazda CX-5 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The CX-5’s appeal is reinforced by its refined cabin, standard advanced safety equipment, and the way its controls and chassis feel sorted in everyday use. The expert drive notes also say the systems operate as they should, with no false alarms or technical glitches during testing.

Its performance hardware is straightforward: a 2.5-litre four-cylinder, a six-speed automatic, and standard all-wheel drive across the range. That simplicity can be a plus for long-term ownership because there’s less complexity than in some rivals.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the same sporty tuning that makes it enjoyable can also mean you’ll live with firmer ride quality and higher fuel use than some alternatives.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Mazda CX-5?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim gives you keyless entry and heated front seats, while higher trims add more comfort and luxury touches. The GS trim adds dual-zone climate control and synthetic leather seat upholstery, and the Turbo models bring genuine leather upholstery and upgraded trim elements.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a 2.5-litre four-cylinder with 187 horsepower and a Turbo model with 256 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque. The base engine is adequate for most drivers, while the Turbo feels noticeably stronger and more confident.
• Safety package: All trim levels include forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control. The GT trim adds adaptive headlights, a head-up display, and Cruise & Traffic Assist, while the top Turbo Signature adds a 360-degree camera, a driver attention monitor, and front and rear parking sensors.
• Infotainment: Every model gets a 10.25-inch infotainment display. Lower trims require a USB cable for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the midrange Premium Plus trim adds wireless phone integration and a wireless charging pad. Premium Plus and above also get a head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: The base engine is estimated at 10.2 L/100 km in city driving, 8.2 L/100 km on the highway, and 9.3 L/100 km combined. With cylinder deactivation on some trims, those figures improve to 9.1 L/100 km city, 7.7 L/100 km highway, and 8.5 L/100 km combined. The Turbo engine is rated at 10.8 L/100 km city, 8.7 L/100 km highway, and 9.8 L/100 km combined.

• Deal availability: 19.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 906 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.27% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $33,478 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Mazda CX-5's resale value?

The current average of $35,914 CAD sits slightly below last year's $37,129 CAD.

That softer pricing can work in your favour if you buy now, because you may be entering the market after some of the depreciation has already happened. For a future seller, the current trend suggests you may need to price competitively if you want to move the vehicle quickly.

The CX-5’s strong appeal should help support demand, especially if you keep it in good condition and choose a well-equipped trim. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

All CX-5 trim levels come standard with forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control.

The GT trim adds adaptive headlights, a head-up display, and Cruise & Traffic Assist, while the top Turbo Signature adds a 360-degree camera, a driver attention monitor, and front and rear parking sensors.

Should I buy a 2025 Mazda CX-5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 19.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.27% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It balances sporty driving feel with an upscale cabin, even though practicality trails some rivals.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $32,337 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $35,914 CAD average.
• It offers a refined, enjoyable compact crossover with strong safety ratings and a polished cabin.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It brings a full redesign with a more modern look, more space, and standard all-wheel drive across the lineup.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of style, driving enjoyment, and current-market availability, the 2025 is the one to target. If price matters most, the 2024 is the smarter value play. If you want the newest design and more technology, the 2026 is the better fit.
