How much does the 2025 Mazda CX-5 cost?

Prices have softened 9.33% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 757 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of choice in the used market.

Is the 2025 Mazda CX-5 a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Mazda CX-5 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

It stands out as an attractive and upscale compact SUV that still puts driving enjoyment first, with stylish design, premium interior materials, and a sporty character. The trade-offs are clear: rear-seat space is tighter than in some rivals, cargo capacity is limited, and fuel economy trails the class.

The main compromises are a firmer ride than some buyers may prefer and practicality that is not class-leading. Even so, if you want a more engaging compact SUV with a more premium feel, it fits that brief well.

With 37.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive listing.

Is the 2025 Mazda CX-5 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The CX-5’s appeal is reinforced by its polished cabin, standard all-wheel drive, and a driving feel that remains composed and confidence-inspiring. The expert evaluation also notes that the systems operated as they should during testing, with no false alarms or technical glitches.

Its performance hardware is straightforward, with a six-speed automatic and standard AWD across the range, which can be a plus if you prefer a simpler, proven setup. The first year of smartphone-app remote monitoring and control is included, which adds a small ownership perk.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is not mechanical complexity so much as living with its below-average fuel economy and tighter packaging.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Mazda CX-5?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim gives you the CX-5’s stylish design and premium feel, but it is lighter on convenience and luxury features than higher trims.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine and a Turbo model; the turbocharged version is much quicker and feels more confident.
• Safety package: Every trim includes forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control.
• Infotainment: All models get a 10.25-inch display, and lower trims use wired phone integration; wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto arrive in the midrange Premium Plus trim.
• Fuel efficiency: The base engine is estimated at 10.2 L/100 km city, 8.2 highway, and 9.3 combined, while the Turbo is rated at 10.8 city, 8.7 highway, and 9.8 combined.

The 2025 Mazda CX-5 is offered in 5 trim levels: GX, GS, GT, Premium Plus, Turbo Signature.

Here's the short version:

• GX: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core CX-5 experience with keyless entry, heated front seats, and standard all-wheel drive. It makes sense if you want the style and driving feel without stretching the budget.
• GS: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds dual-zone climate control and synthetic leather seat upholstery on top of the base engine setup.
• GT: This trim adds adaptive headlights, a head-up display, and Cruise & Traffic Assist, making it a strong choice if you want more convenience and a more premium daily drive.
• Premium Plus: This is the sweet spot for tech shoppers because it adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, and a head-up display.
• Turbo Signature: This is the most luxurious and best-equipped version, with the turbo engine, genuine leather upholstery, upgraded trim elements, a 10-speaker Bose premium system, a 360-degree camera, a driver attention monitor, and front and rear parking sensors.

The current average of $33,734 CAD sits slightly below last year's $37,206 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to be realistic about expectations. The CX-5’s strong appeal as a stylish, enjoyable-to-drive compact SUV should help support demand when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2025 Mazda CX-5 or consider a different year?

Choose the 2025 if:

• 37.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.33% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It blends sporty driving feel with an upscale cabin and standard all-wheel drive.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $32,709 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $33,734 CAD average.
• It feels well refined, with excellent outward visibility and a polished everyday character.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It brings a full redesign with more space, a more modern cabin, and Google built-in standard.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of style, driving enjoyment, and current-market value, the 2025 is the one to target. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 is the smarter buy. If you want more space and newer tech, it is worth looking ahead to the 2026.
