How much does the 2025 MINI Cooper cost?

Prices have softened 5.44% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 125 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 MINI Cooper a good car?

Yes — the 2025 MINI Cooper earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating, which points to a strong overall appeal for shoppers who want character and driving enjoyment. The model is redesigned for 2025, is a little bigger inside and out, and still keeps the lightweight feel that helps define the MINI experience.

The 2025 MINI Cooper scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Form and function.

It stands out for its quirky interior design, all-new infotainment tech, and lively personality, while the Cooper S adds the kind of turbocharged punch that makes it especially entertaining. The trade-offs are that the infotainment is frustrating to use, there’s no ability to independently shift gears without paying extra, and the base price is high.

With 36.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you may find some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 MINI Cooper reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 MINI Cooper is presented as a redesigned model with a lightweight feel and a solid overall driving character, and the expert assessment also points to strong performance and everyday usability. Its turbocharged four-cylinder powertrain is described as lively, and the car’s overall fuel economy is called solid.

The performance notes also suggest the drivetrain is generally well sorted, with smooth gear changes and enough power for city and highway use. On the cost side, the model’s first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure any recall-related work has been completed and that the car’s software and electronics are behaving properly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 MINI Cooper?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Cooper C and Cooper S differ meaningfully in character, with the Cooper S bringing the stronger performance tune and more of the lively personality that defines the model. The base setup also misses some of the more engaging hardware and convenience touches that make the higher trim feel more complete.
• Powertrain: You get a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder with front-wheel drive, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. The base model makes 161 horsepower, while the Cooper S makes 201 hp and is the better pick if you want the more enthusiastic response.
• Safety package: In Canada, standard equipment includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane departure warning. Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality is optional.
• Infotainment: The cabin centres on a round 9.4-inch touchscreen with Mini’s latest Operating System 9 software. Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, and dual-zone climate control are standard, but the system is described as laggy.
• Fuel efficiency: The model returns a Natural Resources Canada rating of between 7.3 and 7.9 litres per 100 kilometres combined depending on configuration.

Which 2025 MINI Cooper trim should I buy?

The 2025 MINI Cooper is offered in 2 trim levels: Cooper C and Cooper S.

Here's the short version:

• Cooper C: This is the entry point, and it gives you the redesigned MINI look, the new 9.4-inch touchscreen, and the standard safety and convenience equipment. It makes the most sense if you want the style and personality without stretching to the pricier performance tune.
• Cooper S: This is the best-value trim if you care most about the MINI’s driving character. It adds the stronger turbocharged engine and the more entertaining performance that the expert review highlights, making it the trim most aligned with the car’s playful mission.

Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality remains optional, so check whether a used example has it if that matters to you.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 MINI Cooper?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 125 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.44% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $38,746 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 MINI Cooper's resale value?

The current average of $39,239 CAD sits slightly below last year's $41,496 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more selectively today. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car is equipped.

Because the model still has strong appeal as a stylish, fun-to-drive hatchback, well-kept examples should continue to attract interest. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 MINI Cooper safe?

The 2025 MINI Cooper has not been tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

In Canada, standard safety equipment includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane departure warning. Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality is optional, and the expert review notes that it can be laggy and slow to react.

You should also make sure any recall-related braking-system work has been completed before you buy.

Should I buy a 2025 MINI Cooper or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.44% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 model brings a redesign, all-new infotainment tech, and a lighter-than-1,400-kilogram feel that helps preserve the MINI’s playful personality.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version of the MINI Cooper’s design, tech, and driving character, the 2025 model is the one to target. If you are more price-sensitive, the softened market and decent inventory make it worth shopping carefully for a well-equipped example rather than rushing into the first one you see.

How does the 2025 MINI Cooper compare to the 2025 BMW 2 Series?

Expert Pros & Cons (per CarGurus review team)

2025 MINI Cooper:

• Pros: Vivacious power output in S model, Sporty dynamics, Spacious interior for its size.
• Cons: Terrible infotainment, No ability to independently shift gears without ponying up, High base price.

2025 BMW 2 Series:

• Pros: Fun to drive, Standard all-wheel drive, Plenty of cargo space.
• Cons: Uninspired styling, Unintuitive technology, Firm ride quality.

Our experts score the 2025 MINI Cooper 7/10 and the 2025 BMW 2 Series 6.3/10. The MINI leans harder into personality, with the stronger emotional appeal coming from its sporty dynamics and lively S-model power. The BMW counters with standard all-wheel drive and more cargo space, but its styling and technology are less appealing. If you want the more distinctive small car, the MINI is the better fit; if you want a more conventional package with standard AWD, the BMW has the edge.
