Is the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport a good car?

The 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport earns an expert rating of 7.00/10.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

It fits you best if you want a slimmer, more road-focused luxury SUV with strong styling and a sportier driving character than the traditional Range Rover. The trade-offs are that it is poor value for money and its technology is unintuitive.

Good and great deals: 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport reliable?

The 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is presented as a refined luxury SUV with strong on-road manners and genuine off-road hardware, but it also carries the usual used-Land Rover caution around ownership costs.

Its performance hardware is substantial, with multiple powertrain options, standard four-wheel drive, and a calm, confident demeanour that supports both comfort and capability. The cost-effectiveness commentary also notes a four-year/80,000-kilometre new-vehicle warranty and complimentary roadside assistance over the same period.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the vehicle’s premium complexity and high running costs can make ownership expensive over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes Dynamic SE, Dynamic HSE, Autobiography, and SV Edition Two. The base trim gets the core luxury-SUV look, while higher trims add more performance and exclusivity; the SV Edition Two stands out with carbon-fibre wheels, a carbon-fibre hood, red leather upholstery, sport seats with light-up SV inserts, and illuminated steering-wheel paddle shifters.
• Powertrain: You can find a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six, plug-in hybrid versions, and a BMW-sourced twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre V8. Output ranges from 395 hp in the base engine to 626 hp in the SV Edition Two, and all versions use an eight-speed automatic with standard four-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, traffic sign recognition, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a driver attention monitor. A 360-degree camera system is standard, and the Autobiography is the only trim with a two-speed transfer case with low range.
• Infotainment: You get a 13.7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13.1-inch touchscreen, plus wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa integration. The system is responsive, but the minimalist layout pushes many functions into the touchscreen.
• Fuel efficiency: The base six-cylinder is rated at 11.1 L/100 km combined, the V8 at 12.6 L/100 km combined, the SV Edition Two at 13.1 L/100 km combined, and the plug-in hybrids at 11.0 L/100 km combined after electric range is used up.

Which 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport trim should I buy?

The 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is offered in 4 trim levels: Dynamic SE, Dynamic HSE, Autobiography, and SV Edition Two.

Here's the short version:

• Dynamic SE: This is the entry point and the best-value trim if you want the Range Rover Sport’s styling, standard four-wheel drive, and core luxury features without stretching too far up the price ladder.
• Dynamic HSE: This is the sensible upgrade if you want more equipment and a better-balanced ownership experience while staying below the more expensive prestige trims.
• Autobiography: Choose this if you want the plug-in hybrid option and the added off-road hardware of the two-speed transfer case with low range.
• SV Edition Two: This is the one for you if you want the most powerful, most exclusive version, along with the most dramatic performance and appearance upgrades.

The standard safety package starts on the base SE trim, so you do not need to move up the range to get the core driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 80 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.19% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $114,717 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport's resale value?

The current average of $114,717 CAD sits slightly below last year's $124,956 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has eased, which can help you buy more selectively today. For a future seller, it also means you may face some depreciation pressure if you buy at the wrong point in the cycle. If you plan to resell later, the safest approach is to focus on well-equipped examples with strong condition and desirable trims.

Is the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport safe?

The 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance features include automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, traffic sign recognition, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a driver attention monitor. A standard 360-degree camera system also helps with parking and visibility.

The safety package is strong from the base trim upward, so you do not need to move into a higher trim just to get the core protection tech. The main caveat is that the standard parking sensors are described as overly sensitive.

Should I buy a 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.19% compared with last year.
• It keeps the same stylish, sportier formula with minimal changes from the previous model year.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds a more extreme SV Carbon version with even higher performance and exclusivity.

The bottom line: Choose the 2025 if you want the current shape of the Range Rover Sport at a softer market price and with more room to negotiate. If you are shopping purely on value, a later model year may be worth considering only if the added performance or exclusivity matters to you more than price.
