Is the 2025 Kia Sportage a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Kia Sportage earns a 5/5 user rating, and its appeal comes from offering three distinct powertrains, a broad mix of standard and available equipment, and competitive fuel economy for shoppers who want flexibility between conventional, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid choices. In Canada, you also get standard heated front seats, standard Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Kia Connect, plus a strong set of driver-assistance features.

With 31.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.

Is the 2025 Kia Sportage reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Sportage’s reliability case is helped by its established powertrain choices and its broad list of standard equipment, which can make it feel well thought out for everyday use. Its main drawbacks are the underwhelming base engine and interior materials that are said to feel cheap, so used buyers should pay close attention to trim level, condition, and how the vehicle has been maintained.

A well-kept example should be a sensible long-term ownership bet, but you should still inspect for wear on interior surfaces and confirm that the features you want are working properly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Kia Sportage?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 497 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.54% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $32,643 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Kia Sportage's resale value?

The current average of $33,328 CAD sits slightly below last year's $35,661 CAD.

That softer pricing can be a mixed signal for future resale: it may help you buy at a more attractive entry point now, but it also means the market has already adjusted downward from last year’s level. If you plan to sell later, the current price trend suggests you should focus on buying well and keeping the vehicle in strong condition to protect your exit value.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2025 Kia Sportage or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.54% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It brings revised styling and a more modern overall presentation.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better pick if you want a strong value play with broad powertrain choice and a softer used-market price. If you care more about the newest styling and can stretch for a newer model, the 2026 is the cleaner upgrade; if price matters most, the 2025 deserves your attention first.
