How much does the 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz cost?

Prices have softened 10.13% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 150 listings available, which suggests you have some room to compare trims and pricing.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz a good car?

The 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz earns an 8/10 expert rating, and it’s aimed at you if you want pickup versatility for weekend DIY projects, hauling bulky items, and day-trip gear rather than heavy towing or remote off-road travel.

The model scores 9/10 across Technology and Safety.

It brings impressive technology, a great warranty, and a fun-to-drive character, but you should weigh the trade-offs: on-pavement handling with all-terrain tyres can be compromised, the back seat is cramped, and cargo space is limited.

With 30.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s a decent amount of market flexibility if you’re shopping carefully.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz reliable?

The 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz is presented as a well-equipped, everyday-use sport truck with a strong warranty and a broad set of standard features, which supports confidence for typical ownership.

Its turbocharged 2.5-litre four-cylinder runs on regular gas, and the truck is described as fun to drive while still being practical for light-duty use. The expert notes also point to a good warranty and a package that’s better suited to daily tasks than extreme use.

The Santa Cruz’s technology and safety systems are extensive, and the model’s standard equipment suggests a strong ownership experience if you stay within its intended use case.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that its compromises show up more clearly if you expect heavy towing, maximum cargo capacity, or frequent rough-road use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup starts with Preferred, while XRT adds a more rugged look and hardware, and Ultimate brings the most upscale equipment. The base trim is the one most likely to leave you wanting more if you care about the newest cabin tech and extra convenience features.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses a turbocharged 2.5-litre four-cylinder with standard all-wheel drive. It’s quick and runs on regular gas, but the eight-speed dual-clutch automatic can feel quirky, and the XRT’s all-terrain tyres can dull on-road handling.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and lane-keep assist. XRT adds intersection collision braking, a surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, and adaptive cruise control with automatic speed adjustment for curves, while Ultimate adds Highway Driving Assist.
• Infotainment: You get a 12.3-inch touchscreen with navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, Bluelink connected services, and over-the-air software updates. Wireless smartphone charging is standard on XRT and Ultimate.
• Fuel efficiency: The Preferred and Ultimate trims are rated at 10.7 L/100 km combined, while the XRT is rated at 11.1 L/100 km combined.

Which 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz trim should I buy?

The 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz is offered in 3 trim levels: Preferred, XRT, and Ultimate.

Here's the short version:

• Preferred: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Santa Cruz formula with the turbocharged engine, standard AWD, and the full 12.3-inch infotainment setup. It makes sense if you want the least expensive way into the model and don’t need the extra camera and convenience features.
• XRT: This is the best-value trim if you want the Santa Cruz’s more adventurous personality, because it adds the rugged styling, all-terrain tyres, surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, adaptive cruise control with curve speed adjustment, and wireless charging. It’s the trim that most clearly leans into the truck’s off-road-inspired character.
• Ultimate: This is the one to choose if you want the most complete package, especially because it adds Highway Driving Assist and is the trim the experts would pick over the XRT for better on-road driving dynamics.

The safety package starts with a strong standard feature set, and XRT and Ultimate add meaningful upgrades rather than cosmetic changes alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on a strong listing.

• Deal availability: 30.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 150 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.13% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $38,452 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz's resale value?

The current average of $38,452 CAD sits slightly below last year's $42,787 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Santa Cruz has become more accessible for used buyers, which can help you enter the market at a lower cost. For a future seller, it also means you may need to price competitively if you want to stand out against the current inventory. If you buy well now, the softer market could help reduce your upfront risk, but resale strength will still depend on trim, condition, and mileage.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz safe?

The 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz earns a Marginal rating in the latest IIHS moderate overlap frontal-impact assessment, and the driver assistance technologies receive that same rating for their effectiveness in preventing a front crash. The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the Santa Cruz the highest five-star rating in each collision evaluation, coupled with a four-star rollover resistance rating.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and lane-keep assist. Starting with the XRT trim, you also get intersection collision braking, a surround-view camera system, blind-spot cameras, and adaptive cruise control with automatic speed adjustment for curves. Highway Driving Assist is standard on the Ultimate trim.

The main caveat is the IIHS frontal-impact result, which is worth keeping in mind if safety performance is a top priority for you.

Should I buy a 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 30.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.13% compared with last year.
• The 2025 adds new tech, styling updates, and off-roading enhancements while staying fun to drive.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $35,941 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $38,452 CAD average.
• It offers broad appeal with a peppy powertrain and a stylish design.

The bottom line: Choose the 2025 if you want the latest Santa Cruz updates and are willing to pay a bit more for them. If your priority is value, the 2024 is the smarter path because it delivers the same basic formula for less money.
