Is the 2025 Hyundai Palisade a good car?

Is the 2025 Hyundai Palisade reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Palisade’s overview and expert evaluation both point to a model that has aged well and continues to feel polished for a family SUV. Its powertrain is described as smooth and refined, and the transmission delivers silky shifts, which supports the impression of a well-sorted vehicle.

Hyundai also backs it with a five-year/100,000-kilometre standard and powertrain warranty with roadside assistance, plus three years of Bluelink connected services for Canadian owners. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that this is the outgoing generation, so condition and maintenance history matter more than chasing the newest shape.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Hyundai Palisade?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Preferred trim already brings a clean, modern, uplevel look and feel, while higher trims add premium leather, metal speaker grilles, and other luxury cues. The Urban trim adds front parking sensors, a surround-view camera, and Blind Spot View Monitor, while Ultimate Calligraphy adds evasive steering assist, lane-change assist functions, automatic braking when parking, and Remote Smart Parking Assist.
• Powertrain: Every Palisade uses a 3.8-litre V6 with 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic and standard AWD in Canada. It is smooth and refined, but fuel economy is not its strong suit.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, intersection turning assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, Highway Driving Assist, and an ultrasonic rear occupant alert system. Some parking and camera-based features are reserved for higher trims.
• Infotainment: You get a 12.3-inch digital driver display and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto require a cable, so wireless smartphone integration is not included.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada estimates 11.1 L/100 km in combined driving, and our testing returned 11.9 L/100 km by the end of the evaluation.

Which 2025 Hyundai Palisade trim should I buy?

The 2025 Hyundai Palisade is offered in 4 trim levels: Preferred, Urban, Ultimate Calligraphy, and Ultimate Calligraphy Night Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Preferred: This is the value-focused starting point, and it already delivers the Palisade’s upscale design, thoughtful cabin details, and strong standard safety equipment. If you want the core experience without stretching for extras, this is the trim to start with.
• Urban: This is the best-value upgrade if you want more everyday convenience. It adds front parking sensors, a surround-view camera, and Blind Spot View Monitor, which make the Palisade easier to live with in tight spaces.
• Ultimate Calligraphy: This is the luxury-leaning choice, with premium leather, metal speaker grilles, and added driver-assistance and parking tech. It suits you if you want the most polished version of the Palisade.
• Ultimate Calligraphy Night Edition: This is the style-focused top-end choice for buyers who want the most distinctive appearance and the most upscale presentation.

The safety package starts with a strong standard feature set, while the Urban and Ultimate Calligraphy trims add extra camera and parking technologies.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Hyundai Palisade?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 448 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.95% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $47,927 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Hyundai Palisade's resale value?

The current average of $47,927 CAD sits slightly below last year's $57,024 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future resale will depend heavily on how well the market values this outgoing generation. Because the Palisade is still well regarded for its styling, packaging, and family-friendly usefulness, a clean example with strong equipment should remain easier to move than a less desirable three-row SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Palisade safe?

The 2025 Hyundai Palisade earned a Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety through 2024, but a Poor result in a newer moderate overlap frontal-impact test kept it from repeating that honour in 2025. It earns five-star frontal impact and four-star rollover resistance ratings from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, intersection turning assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, Highway Driving Assist, and an ultrasonic rear occupant alert system. The Urban trim adds front parking sensors, a surround-view camera, and Blind Spot View Monitor, while Ultimate Calligraphy adds evasive steering assist, lane-change assist functions, automatic braking when parking, and Remote Smart Parking Assist.

Should I buy a 2025 Hyundai Palisade or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.95% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The outgoing model still feels well-rounded and appealing, even before the redesigned 2026 arrives.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $42,790 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $47,927 CAD average.
• It offers a polished, family-friendly package with upscale materials and strong value.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It brings a redesigned cabin and multiple powertrain options.
• It improves on the outgoing model in meaningful ways.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of value, equipment, and proven appeal, the 2025 is the smart pick. If price matters most, the 2024 is worth a look. If you want the newest design and can spend more, the 2026 is the upgrade path.

How does the 2025 Hyundai Palisade compare to the 2025 Kia Telluride?

Our experts score the 2025 Hyundai Palisade 9/10 and the 2025 Kia Telluride 8.2/10. The Palisade stands out for its stronger expert score and broader inventory, while the Telluride has a slightly lower average used price and a bit more city fuel efficiency. Both use the same 3.8L V6 and deliver similar highway figures, so your choice may come down to pricing, availability, and which cabin presentation you prefer.
