How much does the 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric cost?

There are 73 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric a good car?

The 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric earns an 8.3/10 expert rating and is positioned as a value-focused, comfortable compact EV with fresh styling and a long list of standard features.

The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

It is presented as a competent and comfortable electric car for buyers who want to keep costs in check, and the expert summary says it goes big on value with fresh styling, myriad features, and an excellent starting price. The main trade-offs are fairly pedestrian performance and the lack of all-wheel drive, so it suits you best if you care more about everyday usability and equipment than quick acceleration or extra traction.

Cons: Fairly pedestrian performance; all-wheel drive not available.

Only 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market looks selective rather than especially bargain-heavy.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric reliable?

The 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric is framed as a competent commuter with a comfortable ride, a quiet cabin, and enough handling ability for everyday use.

Its electric setup is described as straightforward and practical, with one-pedal driving available and regenerative braking that can be adjusted to suit your preference. Hyundai also backs it with a five-year, 100,000-kilometre limited warranty and an eight-year, 160,000-kilometre warranty for the battery and electric-drive components.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about complexity than about making sure the battery and charging system have been cared for properly, since EV ownership depends heavily on how the car was charged and maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The sole trim level is Preferred, while Trend, Ultimate, and N Line Ultimate packages are available. The base setup already includes a strong equipment list, but the higher packages add features such as leatherette seating, wireless device charging, and more parking technology.
• Powertrain: You get front-wheel drive only, a 64.8-kWh battery pack, 201 hp, and 291 lb-ft of torque. It is not especially quick, but it is tuned more for commuting comfort than sporty acceleration.
• Safety package: Every trim comes with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, safe exit warning, a driver attention monitor, and Highway Driving Assist. The Ultimate and N Line Ultimate packages add parking aids such as a surround-view camera system, parking alerts, Remote Smart Parking Assist, and Blind View Monitor.
• Infotainment: Every Kona Electric gets dual 12.3-inch displays, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and native navigation. The system is quick and easy to use, and the EV page is especially useful for tracking battery usage.
• Range & charging: It offers up to 420 kilometres of driving range, a 64.8-kWh battery, and more than 40 minutes to go from 10% to 80% at a DC fast charger. Home charging should take about five to six hours with the 11-kW onboard charger.
• Battery health: As with any used EV, you should check battery state-of-health, ask how the car was typically charged, and confirm whether it spent most of its life on home charging or frequent DC fast charging. You should also verify how much of the battery warranty remains.

Which 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric trim should I buy?

The 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric is offered in 4 trim levels: Preferred, Trend, Ultimate, and N Line Ultimate.

Here's the short version:

• Preferred: This is the value play if you want the core Kona Electric experience with the standard safety suite, dual 12.3-inch displays, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the full 201 hp electric setup without paying for extras you may not need.
• Trend: This is the best-value upgrade if you want a more upscale cabin, since it adds leatherette seating and keeps the Kona Electric’s strong mix of comfort and technology intact.
• Ultimate: Choose this if you want more convenience and parking tech, including wireless device charging and the added driver-assistance hardware that makes the car easier to live with in tight spaces.
• N Line Ultimate: Pick this if you want the sportiest appearance package, with unique 19-inch wheels, special front and rear fasciae, and an exclusive bumper with a diffuser. It also has a reduced driving range of 370 kilometres.

The safety package is strong across the lineup, but the Ultimate and N Line Ultimate packages add the most useful extra driver-assistance and parking features.

• Deal availability: 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 73 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.21% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $36,966 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric's resale value?

The current average of $37,195 CAD sits slightly below last year's $40,970 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Kona Electric has become more accessible for used buyers, which can help you get into a well-equipped EV without stretching your budget. For a future seller, though, it also means you may face some depreciation pressure if the market stays soft. If you buy carefully now, you may be able to limit that downside by choosing a well-priced example with strong equipment and remaining warranty coverage.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Hyundai’s standard driver-assistance suite is extensive and includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, safe exit warning, a driver attention monitor, and Highway Driving Assist. The higher packages add even more convenience with a surround-view camera system, parking alerts, Remote Smart Parking Assist, and Blind View Monitor.

Should I buy a 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.21% compared with last year.
• This year stands out for its value-focused positioning, fresh styling, and strong standard equipment, while still asking you to accept modest performance and no AWD.

The bottom line: If you want a well-equipped, comfortable EV with a strong value proposition, the 2025 model is the one to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, you should focus on the best-priced listings and be ready to move quickly when you find one near the low end of the range.
