How much does the 2025 Honda Civic cost?

Prices have softened 9.17% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 678 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Honda Civic earns a 4.67/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

The overview points to a compact car that balances everyday usability with driver involvement, and the expert review backs that up with praise for its fun-to-drive character and available manual transmission. It also adds modern tech appeal through available Google Built-In, while the gas-only lineup gives you a clearer path between an affordable sedan or hatchback and the enthusiast-focused Si.

The trade-offs are straightforward: all-wheel drive is not available, lane-keeping assist can be irritating, and the manual misses some user-friendly features.

With 29.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview describes a well-regarded compact car, and the expert review reinforces that impression by highlighting a refined update to an already strong package. The performance notes also point to a forgiving, user-friendly driving experience, especially in the manual-equipped Si, which suggests the car is engineered to be approachable as well as engaging.

The cost-effectiveness notes also show that Honda has kept ownership appeal in mind, with the base LX positioned as the most fuel-efficient non-hybrid version and the Si offering competitive efficiency for a manual performance model.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the car’s feature set and driving character match your expectations over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Honda Civic?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX is the more affordable, simpler choice, while the Sport adds more equipment and the Si brings the sportiest look and feel. The Si also gets red interior accents, a dedicated wheel design, and a more distinctive cabin presentation, but the rear-seat styling does not carry the same special treatment as the front.
• Powertrain: The base Civic uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with 150 horsepower and a CVT, while the Si uses a turbocharged inline four-cylinder with 200 horsepower and a six-speed manual. Every Civic is front-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard on all Civics, with improved collision-mitigation braking, smoother adaptive cruise control, and updated lane-keeping assist. The system is enhanced for better bicycle and motorcycle detection, plus improved cross-traffic visibility.
• Infotainment: The standard screen is 7 inches, while the Si gets a 9-inch touchscreen, Alexa Built-In, Google Built-In, wireless smartphone projection, a 12-speaker Bose Premium sound system, and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster.
• Fuel efficiency: The LX is rated at 6.6 L/100 km combined, while the Si is rated at 7.7 L/100 km combined.

Which 2025 Honda Civic trim should I buy?

The 2025 Honda Civic is offered in 3 trim levels: LX, Sport, and Civic Si.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the best-value choice if you want the most affordable entry point and the strongest fuel economy in the gas-only lineup. It suits you best if you care more about sensible daily use than extra equipment.
• Sport: Choose this if you want a step up in equipment without jumping to the enthusiast-focused Si. It sits between the LX and Si and is the more balanced middle ground for shoppers who want a little more presence.
• Civic Si: This is the clear pick if you want the most engaging Civic in the gas lineup. It adds the turbocharged engine, six-speed manual, larger touchscreen, wireless smartphone projection, Bose audio, Google Built-In, and the digital instrument cluster, making it the best-value trim for driving enthusiasts.

Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim for the core safety package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Honda Civic?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some confidence if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 678 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.17% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $29,473 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $29,961 CAD sits slightly below last year's $32,985 CAD.

That softer pricing can work in your favour if you are buying now, but it also means a future seller may need to be realistic about expectations. If the market continues to normalise, resale values may stay under pressure compared with last year’s peak. Even so, the Civic’s broad appeal and strong demand should help it remain competitive when you eventually sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic safe?

The 2025 Honda Civic Hatchback and the 2025 Honda Civic Sedan have earned Top Safety Pick+ awards from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and five-star overall ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard on all 2025 Civics, and the suite includes improved collision-mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist. The system is updated for smoother operation, and the collision-mitigation system is better able to detect bicycles and motorcycles. Cross-traffic visibility is also improved.

One caveat is that lane-keeping assist can still feel a bit aggressive, with steering-wheel vibration that may bother some drivers.

Should I buy a 2025 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.17% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds a mild refresh, expanded powertrain clarity, and updated tech and safety features.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $27,737 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $29,961 CAD average.
• It is an affordable performance compact aimed squarely at drivers who enjoy the act of driving.

Consider the 2026 if:

• At $32,774 CAD, the 2026 costs more than the current year's $29,961 CAD average.
• It carries over unchanged and keeps the Civic’s broad body-style and powertrain variety.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the best all-around choice if you want the refreshed Civic with updated tech, safety, and a clearer trim structure. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 is the smarter value play; if you want the newest carryover version and do not mind paying more, the 2026 is the alternative to compare.
