How much does the 2025 Genesis GV80 cost?

There are 67 listings available, which suggests a reasonable amount of inventory for shoppers to compare.

Is the 2025 Genesis GV80 a good car?

The 2025 Genesis GV80 earns an 8/10 expert rating, and it’s positioned as a stylish luxury SUV that undercuts some European rivals on price while adding a more sophisticated redesign for 2025.

The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

It also brings standard all-wheel drive, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a more modern interior, which makes it appealing if you want a luxury crossover that feels well equipped and easy to live with. The trade-offs are clear: poor fuel economy and uncomfortable seats are the main drawbacks, so you should pay close attention to comfort on a test drive. Even so, the GV80’s 28.4% good and great deal share suggests there are worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2025 Genesis GV80 reliable?

The 2025 Genesis GV80 is presented as a strong contender in the luxury crossover segment, and Genesis backs it with a 5 year/100,000-kilometre comprehensive and powertrain warranty. Its standard all-wheel drive and updated driver-assistance systems add everyday confidence, while the expert review notes that the vehicle remains quiet and composed on rougher roads.

The performance notes also point to a solid, well-sorted powertrain and firm, linear brakes, which supports the impression of a durable, easy-to-live-with SUV. Genesis also includes five years of map updates and at-home concierge service for test drives and service appointments, which adds convenience for ownership.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the seats and fuel economy may continue to be the weak points you notice most.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Genesis GV80?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GV80 is available with two engine options and four trims, and the base setup is not the one highlighted in the review. The larger-engine versions add more power and are paired with the more upscale trim content, so make sure the equipment level matches what you expect.
• Powertrain: The standard engine is a 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 300 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque, while the larger twin-turbocharged six-cylinder makes 375 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque. Every trim gets standard all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Genesis Highway Drive Assist II is standard, along with lane keeping assist, forward collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. Upper trims add remote smart parking and a 360-degree camera system, and the blind view monitor is also available.
• Infotainment: All trims get a 27-inch OLED screen with a digital gauge cluster and infotainment system, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Wireless charging and four USB-C ports are standard, and a 12-inch head-up display is included on the top tester.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates the four-cylinder engine at 12.5 L/100 km city, 9.8 highway and 11.3 combined, while the six-cylinder returns 14.4 L/100 km city, 10.6 highway and 12.7 combined.

Which 2025 Genesis GV80 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Genesis GV80 is offered in 4 trim levels: Advanced, Advanced Technology Package, Prestige, and Advanced Technology Package.

Here's the short version:

• Advanced: This is the entry point if you want the 2.5-litre engine and standard all-wheel drive at the lowest price. It gives you the core GV80 experience, but you’ll want to compare its equipment carefully against the better-equipped trims.
• Advanced Technology Package: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it adds more of the GV80’s upscale technology and is available with both engines. If you want the sweet spot between price and features, start here.
• Prestige: Choose this if you want the larger 3.5-litre twin-turbo engine and the most upscale version of the GV80’s luxury feel. It’s the right pick if performance and premium content matter more than value.
• Advanced Technology Package: This trim is also offered with the larger engine, so it’s the one to target if you want stronger performance without jumping straight to the top trim.

Genesis’s Highway Drive Assist II is standard, and upper trims add remote smart parking and a 360-degree camera system.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Genesis GV80?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 28.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 67 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.62% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $71,830 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Genesis GV80's resale value?

The current average of $71,830 CAD sits slightly below last year's $87,198 CAD.

That drop suggests the GV80 has become more attractive to used buyers than it was a year ago. If you’re planning to sell later, you should expect pricing pressure to remain a factor unless demand strengthens. For now, the softer market helps you as a buyer, but it also means future resale gains may be harder to realise quickly.

Is the 2025 Genesis GV80 safe?

The 2025 Genesis GV80 has not been rated by IIHS or NHTSA yet.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Genesis Highway Drive Assist II is standard, and it includes an attention monitor that watches the driver’s eyes. Standard safety equipment also includes lane keeping assist, forward collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, while upper trims add remote smart parking and a 360-degree camera system. The blind view monitor is also available, and the system can be customised in vehicle settings.

One caveat is that the attention monitor may not work equally well with all sunglasses, though Genesis says an over-the-air fix should address that.

Should I buy a 2025 Genesis GV80 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 28.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.62% compared with last year.
• It adds a more sophisticated redesign, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a stronger technology story.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $54,058 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $71,830 CAD average.
• It is a stylish, safe, and mostly rewarding midsize luxury SUV.

The bottom line: Choose the 2025 if you want the updated styling and tech, especially if you value the newer interior and wireless smartphone integration. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2024 remains a smart alternative because it delivers much of the same core GV80 appeal for less.
