Is the 2022 Genesis GV80 a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Genesis GV80 earns a 5/5 user rating, which supports its appeal as a luxury midsize SUV with a distinctive design and a carefully finished cabin. The GV80’s strong point is its upscale interior and individual styling, and it also offers a generous equipment list with standard all-wheel drive in Canada. If you want a high-end SUV that feels different from the usual German alternatives, this model year fits that brief well. With 22.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Genesis GV80 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 GV80’s appeal comes from its well-built feel, premium materials, and generous standard equipment, all of which can support confidence in day-to-day ownership. Its lack of a hybrid or electric option and the fact that some advanced technology is reserved for higher trims do not point to major reliability concerns, but they do shape the ownership experience. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is more about choosing the right trim and condition than expecting a fundamentally problematic vehicle.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Genesis GV80?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 22.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 62 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 24.96% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $39,037 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Genesis GV80's resale value?

The current average of $39,037 CAD sits slightly below last year's $52,023 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the GV80 more attractive to you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it means resale expectations should be set with the current softer pricing environment in mind. Even so, the model’s upscale image and strong feature content can help it remain appealing to shoppers looking for a distinctive luxury SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Genesis GV80 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 22.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 24.96% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $34,824 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $39,037 CAD average.
• It introduced Genesis’s first SUV with a roomy three-row luxury focus.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $45,336 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $39,037 CAD average.
• It adds a strong value focus with a compelling feature set.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the best all-around choice if you want the current model-year balance of price, features, and satisfaction. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2021 is the better value path, while the 2023 makes sense if you want to spend more for a newer-year option.
