How much does the 2025 Genesis GV80 cost?

Is the 2025 Genesis GV80 a good car?

The 2025 Genesis GV80 earns an expert rating of 8/10.

The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

It’s a stylish luxury SUV that gets a redesign inside and out for 2025, adds more sophisticated materials, and brings wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also undercuts some European rivals on price, which makes it appealing if you want a premium crossover without stretching quite as far as some competitors.

The trade-offs are clear: the fuel economy is poor, and the seats are far from comfortable. It’s best suited to you if you value design, technology, and a distinctive luxury feel more than outright efficiency or plush seat comfort.

27.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2025 Genesis GV80 reliable?

The 2025 Genesis GV80 is presented as a strong contender with a proven luxury-crossover formula, and Genesis says the powertrain remains unchanged for 2025. The expert evaluation also points to a quiet cabin and confident braking, which supports the impression of a well-sorted daily driver.

Genesis backs the GV80 with a 5 year/100,000-kilometre comprehensive and powertrain warranty, and it also includes five years of map updates. That combination helps reduce early ownership worry for used buyers, especially if you plan to keep the SUV for several years.

The main long-term ownership risk for used buyers is that the GV80’s comfort and efficiency compromises may be hard to live with over time if those are priorities for you.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Genesis GV80?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base setup gives you the GV80’s upscale design and standard safety equipment, but upper trims add remote smart parking, a 360-degree camera system, and the blind view monitor. If you want the most complete feature set, you should focus on the higher trims rather than the entry-level version.
• Powertrain: You can shop the 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder or the larger twin-turbocharged six-cylinder. Every trim gets standard all-wheel drive, and the six-cylinder is the stronger choice if you want more power.
• Safety package: Highway Drive Assist II is standard, and it includes an attention monitor. Standard driver aids also include lane keeping assist, forward collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: All trims get a 27-inch OLED screen with a digital gauge cluster and infotainment system. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, along with wireless charging and four USB-C ports.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates the four-cylinder at 12.5 L/100 km city, 9.8 highway, and 11.3 combined. The six-cylinder is rated at 14.4 L/100 km city, 10.6 highway, and 12.7 combined.

Which 2025 Genesis GV80 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Genesis GV80 is offered in 4 trim levels: Advanced, Advanced Technology Package, Prestige, and Advanced Technology Package.

Here's the short version:

• Advanced: This is the entry point if you want the GV80’s core luxury experience with the 2.5-litre engine and standard all-wheel drive. It makes sense if you want the style, safety tech, and big-screen cabin without paying for extras you may not need.
• Advanced Technology Package: This is the best-value choice if you want more equipment and the stronger feature mix without jumping all the way to the top trim. It’s also one of the trims available with the larger engine, so it gives you flexibility.
• Prestige: This is the trim to choose if you want the larger 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged engine and the most upscale feel. It suits you best if you care most about performance and a richer luxury presentation.

Genesis’s Highway Drive Assist II is standard, and upper trims add more parking and camera technology.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Genesis GV80?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 27.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 69 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.63% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $72,862 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Genesis GV80's resale value?

The current average of $74,397 CAD sits slightly below last year's $88,183 CAD.

That price drop suggests the GV80 has become more accessible for used buyers, which can help you get more vehicle for your money today. For a future seller, it also means you should expect a softer resale environment than last year’s market. If you buy well now, you may be able to limit depreciation pain, but the current trend still favours shoppers more than sellers.

Is the 2025 Genesis GV80 safe?

The 2025 Genesis GV80 has not yet been rated by IIHS or NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Genesis’s Highway Drive Assist II is standard, and it includes an attention monitor that watches the driver’s eyes. Standard safety equipment also includes lane keeping assist, forward collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Upper trims add remote smart parking, a 360-degree camera system, and the blind view monitor.

One caveat is that the attention-monitoring system can be turned off in the infotainment system, and the driver-assist settings take a few taps to adjust. That’s worth keeping in mind if you want quick access to those features.

Should I buy a 2025 Genesis GV80 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 27.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.63% compared with last year.
• It adds a more sophisticated redesign, wireless smartphone integration, and updated interior materials.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $55,930 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $74,397 CAD average.
• It remains a stylish, safe, and mostly rewarding midsize luxury SUV.

The bottom line: If you want the newer styling, updated tech, and a broader 2025 feature set, the 2025 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is saving money and you’re comfortable giving up the refresh, the 2024 is the smarter value play.
