How much does the 2025 GMC Terrain cost?

Prices have softened 8.35% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 714 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 GMC Terrain a good car?

The 2025 GMC Terrain stands out as a compact SUV that leans into a more premium, tech-forward feel. It was redesigned for the 2025 model year with new styling, revisions to the powertrain lineup and a thoroughly upgraded interior.

Standard equipment is notably rich for the class, including a 15-inch touchscreen with the latest GMC infotainment software and Google Built-in, plus an 11-inch digital driver information centre directly in front of the driver. Heated front seats, a heated steering wheel and LED headlamps are also standard, and GMC includes a broad set of safety technologies.

The Terrain also offers some useful flexibility, with front-wheel drive models using a continuously variable transmission and all-wheel drive versions getting an eight-speed automatic plus additional drive modes. For shoppers who want a compact SUV with a more upscale presentation, strong standard technology and broad safety content, it makes a compelling case. 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2025 GMC Terrain reliable?

The 2025 GMC Terrain is presented as a well-equipped compact SUV with a broad set of standard safety technologies and a straightforward gasoline powertrain. It also includes Teen Driver technology, which may appeal if you plan to share the vehicle with younger drivers.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Terrain’s appeal depends heavily on staying on top of maintenance and choosing a well-kept example, especially since it is a redesigned model year with a new powertrain setup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 GMC Terrain?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market: pricing has eased, and there is enough inventory to give you options without making the market feel flooded.

• Deal availability: 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 714 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.35% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $35,880 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 GMC Terrain's resale value?

The current average of $36,076 CAD sits slightly below last year's $39,361 CAD.

That softer pricing can work in your favour if you're buying now, but it also means future resale value may be more sensitive to condition, mileage and equipment. If you plan to sell later, a well-optioned Terrain in strong condition should be easier to position than a bare-bones example. The current trend suggests sellers may need to price competitively to stand out.

Should I buy a 2025 GMC Terrain or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.35% compared with last year.

The bottom line: If you want the newest Terrain with the most up-to-date design, technology and standard equipment, the 2025 is the one to target. If your priority is stretching your budget, a nearby model year may offer a lower entry price, but the 2025 is the better pick when you value the redesigned cabin and stronger feature content.
