Is the 2025 GMC Terrain a good car?

The 2025 GMC Terrain stands out as a redesigned compact SUV with a more modern cabin and a stronger technology focus than before. Standard equipment includes a 15-inch touchscreen with the latest GMC infotainment software and Google Built-in, plus an 11-inch digital driver information centre directly in front of the driver. Heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, LED headlamps, and a broad suite of safety technology are also standard, while available features such as a rear camera mirror, rear pedestrian alert, HD surround vision, and traffic sign recognition add to its appeal.

Its main strengths are a comfortable ride, a roomy cabin, and useful standard equipment, which makes it a sensible fit if you want an easy-to-live-with compact SUV with a more premium feel than many mainstream alternatives. 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2025 GMC Terrain reliable?

The 2025 GMC Terrain is presented as a well-equipped, easy-to-live-with compact SUV with a more premium feel than many mainstream alternatives. The overview points to a comfortable ride, useful standard equipment, and a broad safety technology suite, all of which support a reassuring ownership experience.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that you should still budget carefully for maintenance and wear items as the vehicle ages, especially if you plan to keep it for many years.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 GMC Terrain?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 772 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.29% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $35,771 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 GMC Terrain's resale value?

The current average of $35,797 CAD sits slightly below last year's $39,033 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Terrain has softened enough to give you more room to negotiate today than a year ago. If you buy near the current average or below, you may reduce the risk of overpaying relative to the recent market. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend more heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment than on broad market momentum alone.

Should I buy a 2025 GMC Terrain or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.29% compared with last year.

The bottom line:

The 2025 is the better pick if you want the newer cabin, stronger technology focus, and the current market’s softer pricing. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby model year may be worth considering, but the 2025 makes the most sense when you want the updated feel and can find one priced near the lower end of the range.
