Is the 2025 GMC Terrain a good car?

The 2025 GMC Terrain stands out as a redesigned compact SUV with a more modern cabin and a stronger technology focus than before. Standard equipment includes a 15-inch touchscreen with the latest GMC infotainment software and Google Built-in, plus an 11-inch digital driver information centre directly in front of the driver. Heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, LED headlamps, and a broad suite of safety technology are also standard, while available features such as a rear camera mirror, rear pedestrian alert, HD surround vision, and traffic sign recognition add to its appeal.

GMC also gives the Terrain a drive mode selector beginning in 2025, and families may appreciate the Teen Driver system that can set speed limits and maximum audio levels for individual keys. The Terrain should appeal to you if you want a well-equipped, easy-to-live-with compact SUV with a more premium feel than many mainstream alternatives.

32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2025 GMC Terrain reliable?

The 2025 GMC Terrain’s main strengths are its comfortable ride, roomy cabin and useful standard equipment. It also brings a broad suite of safety technology and a more modern cabin layout, which should make day-to-day ownership feel straightforward and familiar.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Terrain is not the most practical choice in its class, so you may need to accept some compromises if you plan to keep it for many years.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 GMC Terrain?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 778 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.47% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $35,692 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 GMC Terrain's resale value?

The current average of $35,707 CAD sits slightly below last year's $39,010 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Terrain has softened enough to help you buy more selectively today. If you plan to sell later, the current market gives you a useful benchmark for what buyers are paying now, but it also shows that resale values have moved down from a year ago.

Should I buy a 2025 GMC Terrain or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.47% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2025 makes sense if you want the newer cabin, stronger technology focus and a market that has softened enough to improve your negotiating position. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth considering, especially if you can find a lower-priced example with the equipment you want.
