Is the 2025 GMC Terrain a good car?

The 2025 GMC Terrain stands out as a redesigned compact SUV with a more modern cabin and a stronger technology focus than before. Standard equipment includes a 15-inch touchscreen with the latest GMC infotainment software and Google Built-in, plus an 11-inch digital driver information centre directly in front of the driver. Heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, LED headlamps, and a broad suite of safety technology are also standard, while available features such as a rear camera mirror, rear pedestrian alert, HD surround vision, and traffic sign recognition add to its appeal.

The Terrain’s main strengths are its comfortable ride, roomy cabin and useful standard equipment, but it is not without compromises. Cargo space is on the small side for the compact crossover segment, and it also lacks a hybrid powertrain option, which leaves it at a disadvantage against some key rivals. Even so, the 2025 GMC Terrain should appeal to you if you want a well-equipped, easy-to-live-with compact SUV with a more premium feel than many mainstream alternatives.

With 33.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

For long-term ownership, the main risk is that you may be buying into a model that prioritises comfort and technology over maximum practicality, so you should pay close attention to how well the vehicle has been maintained and whether its equipment suits your needs.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 GMC Terrain?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 780 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.88% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $35,885 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 GMC Terrain's resale value?

The current average of $36,060 CAD sits slightly below last year's $39,145 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Terrain has softened enough to improve your buying position today, but it also means future resale may depend heavily on how well the market absorbs this redesigned model. If demand stays steady, a well-kept example should remain reasonably liquid, though you should not expect it to outperform stronger rivals on resale strength alone. For you as a seller, the best outcome will likely come from a clean history, strong equipment, and pricing close to the market average.

Should I buy a 2025 GMC Terrain or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.88% compared with last year.

The bottom line: If you want the newest Terrain with the most modern cabin, the strongest technology focus, and a more premium feel, the 2025 is the one to target. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may make sense, especially if you are willing to trade some of the latest updates for a lower purchase price.
