How much does the 2025 Ford Maverick cost?

Prices have softened 5.52% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 201 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Ford Maverick a good car?

Generally — the 2025 Ford Maverick earns a 4.4/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating, which points to broad appeal for shoppers who want compact-pickup usefulness without moving up to a larger truck. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its practicality, comfortable seating, good fuel economy, and spacious interior, along with the modern features and hybrid efficiency. On the other hand, the expert drive notes that the Maverick is no longer quite the bargain it once was, and the touchscreen-heavy controls may not suit everyone.

For you, that means the Maverick makes the most sense if you want a small truck that feels easy to live with, efficient in hybrid form, and more distinctive than a typical crossover. The market also shows 32.3% of listings as good or great deals, which is a decent sign that value-minded shoppers can still find opportunities.

Is the 2025 Ford Maverick reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a truck that feels practical, comfortable, and good on fuel, with the hybrid version especially valued for efficiency and everyday dependability. The expert drive reinforces that the Maverick remains pleasant to drive and practical, which supports the sense that it should be easy to count on over time.

Ford’s warranty coverage includes a three-year/60,000-kilometre bumper-to-bumper warranty, a five-year/100,000-kilometre powertrain warranty, and an eight-year/160,000-kilometre warranty for hybrid components. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that higher prices and feature complexity can make it less forgiving if you want a simple, low-cost truck to keep for many years.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Ford Maverick?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes the base XL, XLT, and Lariat, plus the specialty Tremor and Lobo models. The XL is the most basic, with 17-inch steel wheels and a simpler grille, while XLT and Lariat add alloy wheels and more upscale exterior details. The interior is a highlight across the range, but the base trim still keeps things simple, so you should check whether the features you want are standard or reserved for higher trims.
• Powertrain: You get a standard hybrid powertrain with a 2.5-litre four-cylinder, single electric motor, and CVT, or an optional 2.0-litre EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder with more power. The hybrid is the efficiency play, while the turbo engine is the stronger choice if you want more punch. The Lobo uses a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, while most other turbo models use an eight-speed automatic.
• Safety package: Forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise control with lane-centring and stop-and-go, and automatic high beams are standard on the base XL. Blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and a 360-degree camera are optional, so you should verify which driver-assistance features are fitted on the truck you’re considering.
• Infotainment: The 2025 Maverick gets a standard 13.2-inch touchscreen, Sync 4, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an 8-inch digital instrument cluster. The system is straightforward to use, but the touchscreen-based climate and seat-heater controls are worth checking in person to see if they suit you.
• Fuel efficiency: The hybrid is rated at 6.2 L/100 km combined, while the 2.0-litre turbo-four is rated at 9.4 L/100 km combined. The Lobo is rated at 9.7 L/100 km combined, and the Tremor at 10.1 L/100 km combined.

Which 2025 Ford Maverick trim should I buy?

The 2025 Ford Maverick is offered in 5 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, Tremor, and Lobo.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the value-focused starting point, and it gives you the Maverick’s core appeal without pushing the price up too far. You still get the standard hybrid powertrain, the updated 13.2-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the basic safety suite, so it makes the most sense if you want the Maverick experience at the lowest entry point.
• XLT: This is the trim to consider if you want a better balance of equipment and price. It builds on the XL with a more polished feel, and it should suit you if you want the Maverick’s practicality without stretching into luxury territory.
• Lariat: This is the best fit if you want the most comfort and convenience in the mainstream lineup. It adds the most upscale presentation among the regular trims and is also the trim that gets Pro Trailer Hitch Assist and Pro Trailer Backup Assist, which makes it especially appealing if towing tech matters to you.
• Tremor: Choose this if you want the off-road-focused version. It gets dedicated suspension tuning, all-terrain tyres, skid plates, and a twin-clutch rear drive unit for its AWD system, so it’s the right pick if you want the Maverick’s utility with a more rugged character.
• Lobo: This is the enthusiast choice. With lowered suspension, unique styling, upgraded brakes, a track-focused drive mode, and torque-vectoring hardware, it’s the one to buy if you want the Maverick to feel more like a street truck than a small utility vehicle.

The safety package is not fully standard across the lineup, so it’s worth checking the exact feature content on any used example before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Ford Maverick?

The market looks moderately favourable for selective buyers, especially if you’re willing to compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 201 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.52% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $41,430 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Ford Maverick's resale value?

The current average of $41,528 CAD sits slightly below last year's $43,956 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Maverick has moved from a hotter market into a more normalised one, which can help future buyers but may limit upside for a seller in the short term. If prices stay near the current average, resale value should remain steady rather than surge. The Maverick’s broad appeal, practical layout, and strong owner satisfaction should still help support demand when you decide to sell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Ford Maverick safe?

The 2025 Maverick earns four-star ratings in rollover crash testing and five-star ratings in frontal and side crash tests from NHTSA.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise control with lane-centring and stop-and-go, and automatic high beams are standard on the base XL. Blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and a 360-degree camera are optional, so you should confirm which features are fitted on the used truck you’re considering.

The expert safety testing also notes a mixed result from IIHS, with a Good rating in the updated side crash test but only Marginal in the updated moderate overlap front test, plus an Acceptable headlight rating. That means the Maverick has some strong safety credentials, but you should pay close attention to the exact equipment on the vehicle you’re shopping.

Should I buy a 2025 Ford Maverick or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.52% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 model adds styling and tech updates, plus the new Lobo performance variant and an all-wheel drive hybrid.

The bottom line: If you want the most up-to-date Maverick with the strongest mix of tech, personality, and powertrain choice, the 2025 is the one to target. If your priority is lower purchase price, a nearby model year may still make sense, but you’ll be giving up some of the 2025 updates and the expanded lineup.
