How much does the 2025 Ford F-150 cost?

Prices have softened 24.01% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,971 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Ford F-150 a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 5/5 user-rated truck with an expert rating of 7.3/10. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

The 2025 F-150’s appeal comes from its sheer breadth: three cab styles, three bed lengths, eight trim levels, and six powertrains give you a lot of ways to tailor the truck to your needs. It also brings serious capability, strong technology, and off-road ability, while the Platinum Plus package adds a more upscale angle for buyers who want extra luxury.

The trade-offs are familiar for a full-size pickup: poor fuel economy and poor manoeuvrability, plus an average value proposition.

With 37.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s enough market flexibility to shop carefully.

Is the 2025 Ford F-150 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 F-150 is built around broad usefulness and strong capability, and the expert assessment backs that up with praise for its substance across the lineup. Its technology and driver-assistance systems are also a highlight, which can make day-to-day ownership feel more modern and less tiring.

Ford’s BlueCruise hands-free driving tech is standard starting with the Tremor trim, and the truck’s safety suite adds newer features such as oncoming-traffic detection for automatic emergency braking, evasive steering assist, intersection braking assist, predictive speed assist, Road Edge Detection, and Active Blind-Spot Assist. The cost-effectiveness notes also point to competitive value in Canada, even if the truck is not class-leading on that front.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a complex, full-size truck can bring higher running costs and more to inspect than a simpler vehicle.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Ford F-150?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Tremor builds on the XLT trim level with off-roading equipment, exclusive design details, body-colour and black exterior accents, Active Orange touches, and all-terrain tyres. It also gets a black interior with orange accents and stitching, plus orange Tremor branding inside. The base trim is not described here, so you should compare equipment carefully if you want the features that make the Tremor feel more special.
• Powertrain: The Tremor can be had with a standard 3.5-litre V6 or an optional 5.0-litre V8. The V8 makes 400 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque, while the twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 is described as more capable and more fuel efficient.
• Safety package: BlueCruise is standard starting with the Tremor trim, and the 2025 model adds oncoming-traffic detection for automatic emergency braking, evasive steering assist, intersection braking assist, predictive speed assist, Road Edge Detection, and Active Blind-Spot Assist.
• Infotainment: The truck uses a 12-inch productivity screen and a 12-inch Sync 4 infotainment touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto are onboard, and the system also includes native navigation and voice recognition.
• Fuel efficiency: The Tremor EcoBoost is rated at 12.9 L/100 km combined, while the V8 is rated at 13.7 L/100 km. In testing, the V8 averaged 14.9 L/100 km.

Which 2025 Ford F-150 trim should I buy?

The 2025 Ford F-150 is offered in 8 trim levels: XL, STX, XLT, Tremor, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Raptor.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the entry point if you want the F-150’s core capability and broad configuration range without paying for extra luxury or off-road hardware.
• STX: A sensible step up if you want a little more style and equipment while staying relatively accessible.
• XLT: The best-value trim for many buyers, since the Tremor is described as building on it and adding the off-road-focused hardware and visual upgrades.
• Tremor: The standout choice if you want a more capable off-road setup, standard 4WD, Trail Control, skid plates, a locking rear axle, and the strongest mix of personality and hardware in this test-driven lineup.
• Lariat: A good fit if you want more comfort and technology than the lower trims without jumping all the way to the luxury-focused models.
• King Ranch: Best if you want a more premium, distinctive truck with a stronger upscale feel.
• Platinum: A strong pick if you want a high-end F-150 with a more polished, luxury-leaning character.
• Raptor: The choice for buyers who want the most extreme off-road-focused version in the lineup.

BlueCruise is standard starting with the Tremor trim, so that trim marks an important safety and convenience step up.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Ford F-150?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 37.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,971 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 24.01% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $60,101 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Ford F-150's resale value?

The current average of $60,156 CAD sits slightly below last year's $79,163 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means sellers may need to price more competitively to stand out. If you’re planning to sell later, the current trend points to softer near-term resale conditions than a year ago. Still, the F-150’s broad appeal and wide configuration range should help keep demand healthy across many buyer types.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Ford F-150 safe?

The 2025 Ford F-150 earns five-star ratings from NHTSA and scores well in IIHS crash tests.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford’s safety suite includes oncoming-traffic detection for automatic emergency braking, evasive steering assist, intersection braking assist, predictive speed assist, Road Edge Detection, Active Blind-Spot Assist, and BlueCruise hands-free driving technology. BlueCruise is standard starting with the Tremor trim, and the system communicates clearly through the productivity screen, head-up display, and audible warnings.

A key caveat is that BlueCruise is impressive but not infallible, and it can struggle with lane narrowing, construction zones, glare, and other difficult situations.

Should I buy a 2025 Ford F-150 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 37.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 24.01% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 adds a slew of new standard and optional driver-assistance systems.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $54,386 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $60,156 CAD average.
• It offers broad versatility with multiple powertrain options and updated BlueCruise.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It keeps the F-150’s broad configuration range while reshuffling standard and optional equipment.
• The lineup remains focused on versatility and flexibility.

The bottom line: If you want the most current safety and driver-assistance updates, the 2025 is the better target. If your priority is saving money, the 2024 is the smarter value play, while the 2026 makes sense if you want the latest equipment mix and can wait for the right listing.
