CarGurus Analysis: 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning
Summary
With 62 currently listed for sale and an average price of $76,194 CAD, 29.0% of 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning 5 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning stands out because it is part of the first series-production full-size electric pickup to reach the market. That alone gives it a different place in the truck world, especially for buyers who want a full-size pickup with an EV powertrain rather than a conventional V8. The Lightning name also carries a performance-truck legacy, which adds some extra appeal for shoppers who value the badge’s history as well as its modern electric identity.
What makes the Lightning distinctive is that it combines that electric-truck novelty with the familiar F-150 formula. The source describes the original F-150 SVT Lightning as a niche performance truck that introduced Ford customers to high-performance pickups, and says the electric F-150 Lightning is expected to introduce Ford customers to EVs. That gives the nameplate a clear through-line: it has always been about doing something a little different from the standard pickup. For buyers, that means the 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning is appealing not just as a truck, but as a statement vehicle with a well-known name and a unique role in the market.

Is the 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning a good car?
Yes — the 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner approval for this full-size electric pickup. It stands out as part of the first series-production full-size electric pickup to reach the market, so you’re looking at a truck that offers EV powertrain appeal in a familiar F-150 package. The Lightning name also adds performance-truck heritage, which gives it extra appeal if you want a pickup that feels distinctive rather than conventional. 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent amount of market opportunity.
Is the 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning’s reliability case is tied to its role as a mainstream electric pickup with a familiar truck formula, rather than something experimental in concept. Its identity as a first-series-production full-size electric pickup suggests a vehicle designed to bring EV ownership into a well-known truck format. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that any EV pickup can carry higher complexity than a conventional truck, so condition and maintenance history matter.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.
- Deal availability: 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 70 listings available.
Should I buy a 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: If you want the latest version of Ford’s full-size electric pickup with strong owner approval and a distinctive place in the market, the 2025 is the primary path to consider. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing for a lower entry point while you shop for the right deal.
