How much does the 2025 Ford Expedition cost?

Prices have softened 11.66% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 158 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Ford Expedition a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Ford Expedition earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Technology.

It stands out as a large SUV aimed at you if you want serious interior space and strong towing capability, and the all-new 2025 cabin leans into a tech-forward, futuristic feel. The main trade-offs are that it is expensive and its engines are thirsty, while the tech also requires an additional subscription.

The market looks supportive too, with 41.8% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2025 Ford Expedition reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Expedition is built around a strong, capable package, and the expert review highlights that it is easy to drive for such a large SUV. Its powertrain is described as having no trouble bringing the vehicle up to highway speed, and the transmission and suspension are called out for smooth, confident behaviour.

The tech package also adds convenience, and the review notes that the first year of the Ford Connectivity Package is included before subscription costs begin. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the vehicle’s size, complexity, and subscription-based features can make upkeep and ongoing use more expensive than you might expect.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Ford Expedition?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Active trim already comes with tri-zone automatic climate control, power-folding rear seats, and a 24-inch panoramic driver information display, while the King Ranch adds significantly nicer materials and Del Rio leather seating. The Tremor trim is the one to focus on if you want more off-road ability than the rest of the lineup.
• Powertrain: Every 2025 Expedition uses a twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6, with 400 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque in standard form and 440 horsepower and 510 lb-ft in Tremor trim. In Canada, four-wheel drive is standard on all trims.
• Safety package: Ford’s standard suite includes automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alerts, Pro-Trailer Hitch Assist, and Pro-Trailer Backup Assist. BlueCruise 1.4 is available on all trim levels, but it requires a subscription after the trial period.
• Infotainment: The Expedition uses a 13.2-inch touchscreen with Google Maps, Google Assistant, and the Google Play store, plus wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay projection if you do not subscribe to the Ford Connectivity Package. The 24-inch driver information display is a major feature to check for, since it is one of the cabin’s standout pieces of tech.
• Fuel efficiency: The Natural Resources Canada rating is 15.4 L/100 km in the city, 10.7 L/100 km on the highway, and 13.3 L/100 km combined.

Which 2025 Ford Expedition trim should I buy?

The 2025 Ford Expedition is offered in 4 trim levels: Active, Platinum, Tremor, and King Ranch.

Here's the short version:

• Active: This is the best-value trim if you want the core Expedition experience without stretching too far up the price ladder. It already brings a lot of standard equipment, including the 24-inch panoramic driver information display, tri-zone automatic climate control, and power-folding rear seats.
• Platinum: Choose this if you want a more upscale Expedition with a stronger luxury focus than the Active. It sits above the entry trim and is aimed at buyers who want more premium content.
• Tremor: This is the trim to buy if you want the Expedition’s added off-road capability. It gets the high-output engine, increased ground clearance, all-terrain tyres, skid plates, and an electronic locking rear axle.
• King Ranch: Pick this if you want the most luxurious feel in the lineup. The review highlights its nicer materials and Del Rio leather seating, making it the most premium-feeling choice.

Ford includes its Pro-Trailer Hitch Assist and Pro-Trailer Backup Assist on every Expedition, so you do not need to move up a trim for those features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Ford Expedition?

It is a buyer-friendly time to shop, especially if you are comparing multiple listings and waiting for the right price.

• Deal availability: 41.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 158 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.66% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $88,423 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Ford Expedition's resale value?

The current average of $88,559 CAD sits slightly below last year's $100,246 CAD.

That softer pricing can work in your favour if you are buying now, but it also means future resale values may depend heavily on how much the market continues to normalise. If prices stabilise, a well-kept Expedition could hold its value better than a vehicle that is still sliding. If you are planning to sell later, the current trend suggests you should expect a more competitive resale environment than last year.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Ford Expedition safe?

The 2025 Ford Expedition has not yet been rated by NHTSA, and the IIHS testing referenced for this model was performed on a previous-generation 2023 vehicle.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford equips the Expedition with a strong standard safety suite that includes automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alerts, Pro-Trailer Hitch Assist, and Pro-Trailer Backup Assist. BlueCruise 1.4 is also available across the lineup, with a trial period included before subscription costs apply.

One caveat to keep in mind is that the available IIHS results referenced for the older vehicle included only Moderate scores in the small overlap front and updated moderate overlap front tests, even though other evaluations were Good.

Should I buy a 2025 Ford Expedition or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 41.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.66% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 brings an all-new design, a futuristic cabin, and the new Tremor trim for more off-road ability.

The bottom line: If you want the newest Expedition with the most up-to-date cabin, the 2025 is the one to target. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby model year may be worth considering, but the 2025’s updated design and added Tremor trim make it the more compelling choice for shoppers who value the latest features.
