How much does the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox cost?

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox earns an expert rating of 7.67/10.

The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

It brings a more modern, value-focused pitch than before, with new standard tech and safety features, new transmissions, and a new trim aimed at weekend-warrior buyers. The trade-offs are worth keeping in mind: the cargo compartment is small for the class, off-road capability is minimal even in ACTIV trim, and the voice assistant can be finicky.

With 36.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox is presented as a modernised redesign with standard safety and tech equipment, which supports a reassuring ownership case for everyday use.

Its single engine offering is a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder, and the eight-speed automatic in AWD versions is described as an improvement over the old six-speed because it shifts more quickly and makes less noise. Standard wireless smartphone projection, Chevy Safety Assist, and Teen Driver Technology also point to a well-equipped package from the start.

Chevrolet also includes standard wireless smartphone projection and a broad set of safety features, which should help reduce day-to-day friction for used buyers. Long-term ownership risk looks manageable, but you should still pay close attention to how the vehicle has been used and maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Chevrolet Equinox?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LT is the base trim and comes with 17-inch wheels, while the RS adds black mirrors and badges, a larger grille opening, red RS emblems, and standard 19-inch wheels. The Activ brings a more adventure-oriented look with dark chrome accents, simpler grille inserts, 17-inch wheels, and all-terrain tires.
• Powertrain: Every version uses a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 175 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque. LT FWD models use a CVT, while AWD versions use an eight-speed automatic.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist is standard, and it includes enhanced automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, rear seat reminder, automatic high beams, rear park assist, side blind-zone alert, and Teen Driver Technology. The available Safety & Technology package adds rear pedestrian alert, HD surround vision, traffic-sign recognition, and a camera rearview mirror.
• Infotainment: The standard setup includes an 11.3-inch touchscreen, Google Built-In, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, and a six-speaker audio system. Wireless charging is standard on RS and Activ and available on LT.
• Fuel efficiency: No fuel-consumption figure is stated in the available data.

Which 2025 Chevrolet Equinox trim should I buy?

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox is offered in 3 trim levels: LT, RS, Activ.

Here's the short version:

• LT: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry point and still want standard wireless smartphone projection, Chevy Safety Assist, and Teen Driver Technology. It also gives you the most flexibility on price, with AWD available if you need it.
• RS: This is the better choice if you want the sportier look and more upscale visual treatment, including black exterior details, larger wheels, and standard AWD in Canada. It suits you best if style matters more than keeping the sticker as low as possible.
• Activ: This is the trim to choose if you like the more rugged appearance, all-terrain tyres, and the unique Maple Sugar and Black interior theme. It is the most distinctive option, but the content does not suggest it is a true off-road model.

The available Safety & Technology package can be added to any trim for extra driver-assistance equipment.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Chevrolet Equinox?

The market looks moderately favourable if you are a selective buyer.

• Deal availability: 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 531 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.02% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $34,551 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $34,553 CAD sits slightly below last year's $38,833 CAD.

That price drop suggests the Equinox has become more attractive to used buyers than it was a year ago. If you plan to sell later, you should expect the market to be more price-sensitive than before. The good news is that the current average still sits within a fairly tight year-round range, which can help support resale stability if your vehicle is well equipped and well maintained.

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox safe?

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

It comes standard with Chevy Safety Assist, which includes enhanced automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, rear seat reminder, automatic high beams, rear park assist, side blind-zone alert, and Teen Driver Technology. The available Safety & Technology package adds rear pedestrian alert, HD surround vision, traffic-sign recognition, and a camera rearview mirror.

That standard equipment list is a major strength, especially because several of those features were not standard for 2024. If you want the fullest safety setup, you should look for a trim equipped with the available package.

Should I buy a 2025 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.02% compared with last year.
• It adds new standard tech and safety features, plus a more value-focused redesign.

Consider the 2026 if:

• At $36,777 CAD, the 2026 costs more than the current year's $34,553 CAD average.
• It adds a standard drive mode selector.

The bottom line: If you want the better value proposition, the 2025 is the stronger pick because it combines a lower average price with a meaningful redesign. If you are willing to pay more for a newer model year and only need modest updates, the 2026 is the secondary path for buyers who care less about price.
