How much does the 2025 BMW 2 Series cost?

Prices have softened 21.80% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 90 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for shoppers.

Is the 2025 BMW 2 Series a good car?

The 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe earns a 6.3/10 from our experts.

The model scores 7/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Cost effectiveness.

It is positioned as a relatively affordable way into BMW ownership, and it still leans into the brand’s sporty side. For many drivers, that makes it an appealing entry-level sedan that preserves much of the sharp performance character you expect from BMW.

The trade-offs are clear: the styling is uninspired, the technology can be unintuitive, and the ride quality is firm.

With 27.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market offers a reasonable amount of value-oriented shopping opportunity.

Is the 2025 BMW 2 Series reliable?

The 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is described as a relatively affordable entry point that still keeps much of BMW’s sporty character intact.

Its standard safety and driver-assistance equipment performed as expected in testing, with no false alarms or technical glitches noted. The powertrain is also presented as a straightforward 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder setup with standard all-wheel drive, which supports the car’s everyday usability.

The infotainment and driver-assistance systems are modern, but some controls are buried in menus, which can make day-to-day use feel less intuitive than it should. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a compact luxury car with this much technology can become more frustrating if previous maintenance or software updates were neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 BMW 2 Series?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin is described as having sturdy, soft-touch materials on upper surfaces and attractive metallic accents, but the car’s overall styling is less convincing than its cabin presentation. You should also note that some features shown in test vehicles are not offered in Canada.
• Powertrain: The Canadian model is the 228 xDrive Gran Coupe with a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, 241 horsepower, 295 pound-feet of torque, a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and standard all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, front and rear parking proximity sensors, and a semi-automated parking system. The optional Driving Assistant Professional package adds adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-change assist, evasive steering assist, and traffic jam assist.
• Infotainment: You get a 10.7-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, and a Harman Kardon premium sound system. Over-the-air software updates are included, and BMW Digital Key support is available.
• Fuel efficiency: Official Canadian fuel-consumption ratings are not available. The U.S. EPA rates it at 7.8 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving.

Which 2025 BMW 2 Series trim should I buy?

The 2025 BMW 2 Series is offered in 1 trim level: 228 xDrive Gran Coupe.

Here's the short version:

The 228 xDrive Gran Coupe is the one to focus on, since it is the only Canadian model and therefore the default choice. It brings the standard all-wheel-drive setup, the 10.7-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration, and the full set of core safety features, so you are not giving up much by staying with the lone trim. If you want more driver-assistance capability, the optional Driving Assistant Professional package is the key add-on to look for.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 BMW 2 Series?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to shop carefully but not so much supply that every listing is heavily discounted.

• Deal availability: 27.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 90 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 21.80% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $41,436 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 BMW 2 Series's resale value?

The current average of $42,874 CAD sits slightly below last year's $54,826 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has moved in buyers’ favour, which can help you get into the car at a more reasonable entry point. For a future seller, though, it also means you should expect softer resale conditions than the model had a year ago.

If you buy carefully now, you may be starting from a lower price base than previous shoppers did. That can help reduce depreciation pain, but it also means you should be realistic about how quickly the car may continue to lose value.

Is the 2025 BMW 2 Series safe?

The 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe comes with standard advanced safety and driver assistance features such as forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, front and rear parking proximity sensors, and a semi-automated parking system.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The optional Driving Assistant Professional package adds adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-change assist, evasive steering assist, and traffic jam assist. In testing, the available safety features performed as they should, with no false alarms or technical glitches.

Should I buy a 2025 BMW 2 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 27.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 21.80% compared with last year.
• The redesigned model’s added power and technology matter to you, and you want the entry-level BMW sedan with standard all-wheel drive.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version with more power and technology, the 2025 is the better path. If you are mainly shopping on price, a nearby model year may still be worth considering, but the 2025’s softer pricing makes it easier to justify if you want the updated package.
