How much does the 2025 BMW 2 Series cost?

Prices have softened 18.40% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 88 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for shoppers to compare.

Is the 2025 BMW 2 Series a good car?

The 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe earns a 6.3/10 from our experts, and it is positioned as an affordable, sporty entry point into BMW ownership with standard all-wheel drive and plenty of cargo space.

The model scores 7/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Cost effectiveness.

It brings a redesigned look and a bit more power and technology for 2025, which helps it feel like a strong appetizer to the rest of BMW’s lineup. At the same time, the styling is uninspired, the technology can be unintuitive, and the ride quality is firm.

Cons: Uninspired styling, unintuitive technology, and firm ride quality are the main trade-offs you’ll notice if you want a compact luxury car that still leans sporty.

Only 27.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so you may need to be selective if you want the best value.

Is the 2025 BMW 2 Series reliable?

The 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is described as a relatively affordable way into BMW ownership, and the expert review says it gains more power and technology for 2025 while keeping much of the brand’s sharp performance character.

Its performance notes point to a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder, standard all-wheel drive, and adaptive dampers, which should help it feel composed and capable in everyday driving. The expert review also says the available safety features performed as they should, with no false alarms or technical glitches.

On the cost side, the review notes that the 228 xDrive’s low volume in Canada means official fuel consumption ratings are not available, so you may have less clarity on running costs than you would with a higher-volume model. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is more about limited market support and uncertain operating costs than any specific mechanical red flag.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 BMW 2 Series?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin is closer to BMW’s current design language, with sturdy soft-touch materials on upper surfaces and attractive metallic accents, but the model’s appearance is less athletic than some other BMWs and the interior shown in testing included features not offered in Canada.
• Powertrain: The Canadian model is the 228 xDrive Gran Coupe with a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder, 241 horsepower, 295 pound-feet of torque, a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, and standard all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, front and rear parking proximity sensors, and a semi-automated parking system. The optional Driving Assistant Professional package adds adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-change assist, evasive steering assist, and traffic jam assist.
• Infotainment: You get a 10.7-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, a Harman Kardon premium sound system, remote monitoring and control through a smartphone app, BMW Digital Key, and over-the-air software updates.
• Fuel efficiency: Official Canadian fuel consumption ratings are not available for this model.

Which 2025 BMW 2 Series trim should I buy?

The 2025 BMW 2 Series is offered in 1 trim level: 228 xDrive Gran Coupe.

Here's the short version:

The 228 xDrive Gran Coupe is the one to shop because it is the only Canadian trim and it already includes the core hardware and tech you’d want, including standard all-wheel drive, adaptive dampers, the 10.7-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration, and the Harman Kardon audio system. It suits you best if you want the entry point to BMW ownership without giving up the brand’s sporty feel.

The safety package note to keep in mind is that the optional Driving Assistant Professional package adds the more advanced driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 BMW 2 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 27.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 88 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.40% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $41,443 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 BMW 2 Series's resale value?

The current average of $43,885 CAD sits slightly below last year's $53,778 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you as a buyer today but may also mean a future seller has less room to recover value quickly. If you buy at the right price, you may reduce the risk of taking an immediate depreciation hit. For resale, the limited Canadian supply could help support demand, but the softer trend means you should still be cautious about overpaying.

Is the 2025 BMW 2 Series safe?

The 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe comes with standard advanced safety and driver assistance features such as forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, front and rear parking proximity sensors, and a semi-automated parking system.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The optional Driving Assistant Professional package includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-change assist, evasive steering assist, and traffic jam assist. The expert review also notes that the available safety features performed as they should, with no false alarms or technical glitches.

Should I buy a 2025 BMW 2 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 27.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.40% compared with last year.
• The redesigned model’s extra power and technology matter to you, and you want the affordable, sporty entry point into BMW ownership.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version with more power and technology, the 2025 is the better path. If you are mainly focused on price, a nearby model year may be worth considering, especially if you can find a cleaner listing at a lower asking price.
