How much does the 2025 Acura MDX cost?

Prices have softened 8.54% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 193 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Acura MDX a good car?

The 2025 Acura MDX is a well-rounded choice if you want a stylish, comfortable three-row luxury SUV with approachable tech and strong everyday usability. Its user rating is 3.8/5, and our experts score it 7.8/10.

The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Drivers most often praise its comfort, reliability, and family-friendly daily usability. The MDX also comes through as easy to live with, with intuitive controls and a polished cabin experience that suits commuting and road trips.

The trade-offs are clear: fuel economy is poor, the standard V6 is somewhat underwhelming, and there’s no hybrid or plug-in hybrid option. The cramped third row also limits its appeal if you regularly need adult-sized space in back.

For shoppers who want a refined luxury SUV that feels modern and straightforward, the MDX fits the brief well. With 36.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to find value in the market.

Is the 2025 Acura MDX reliable?

The refreshed 2025 Acura MDX is presented as a reliable, comfortable SUV that should suit family commuting and long-term daily use. Drivers describe it as dependable and trouble-free, especially for routine ownership.

The expert review also points to refined, accurate driver-assistance behaviour and a powertrain that feels capable in normal driving. Acura’s standard maintenance coverage can also help reduce early ownership costs when applicable.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the MDX’s fuel economy and standard V6 setup may feel less appealing over time than more efficient rivals.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Acura MDX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base MDX Tech is nicely equipped, while the A-Spec adds a sportier look and the Platinum Elite A-Spec brings more luxury. The Type S Ultra sits at the top with maximum acceleration and handling, but it is the most expensive choice.
• Powertrain: The standard 3.5-litre V6 makes 290 hp and is paired with a 10-speed automatic and SH-AWD. It delivers good power for daily driving, but it is not especially quick and fuel economy suffers if you use the sportier settings often.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, Traffic Jam Assist, front and rear parking sensors, and low-speed automatic braking. The Type S Ultra adds front cross-traffic alert, evasive steering warning, active lane-change assist, and cornering speed assist.
• Infotainment: The MDX uses a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Alexa Built-in, Google Built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, AcuraLink connected services, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. A 12.3-inch digital instrument display is standard, and higher trims can add a 10.5-inch head-up display and surround-view camera system.
• Fuel efficiency: The standard MDX is rated at 11.2 L/100 km combined, while the Type S uses 12.4 L/100 km combined. In testing, the MDX averaged 15.3 L/100 km.

Which 2025 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2025 Acura MDX is offered in 4 trim levels: MDX Tech, A-Spec, Platinum Elite A-Spec, and Type S Ultra.

Here's the short version:

• MDX Tech: This is the best-value starting point if you want the MDX’s core strengths without stretching to a pricier trim. It is nicely equipped and gives you the refreshed infotainment, standard safety tech, and the same basic luxury feel.
• A-Spec: Choose this if you want a sportier appearance and a step up in presence without jumping all the way to the top of the range. It adds visual flair and keeps the MDX’s easy-to-use character intact.
• Platinum Elite A-Spec: This is the trim to target if you want the richest mix of luxury and style. It blends maximum luxury with a sportier look, and it is the best fit if you want the most upscale non-Type S experience.
• Type S Ultra: Pick this only if you want the strongest performance and the extra hardware that comes with it. It is the most expensive trim, but it also brings the most capability and the most advanced safety additions.

The Type S Ultra also gets extra safety hardware and features beyond the standard AcuraWatch setup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Acura MDX?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 193 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.54% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $59,033 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $59,033 CAD sits slightly below last year's $64,543 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the MDX is currently more accessible to used buyers than it was a year ago. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to last year’s average.

For a future seller, the key question is whether the market keeps rewarding the MDX’s refreshed styling and tech. If demand stays steady, a well-kept example should remain competitive, but the lack of a hybrid option may limit long-term pricing strength versus more efficient rivals.

Is the 2025 Acura MDX safe?

The 2025 MDX earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

All MDX models come standard with AcuraWatch, which includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, Traffic Jam Assist, front and rear parking sensors, and low-speed automatic braking.

The standard system performed well in testing, with only a minor false lane-departure notification and some difficulty at a tricky intersection. The lane-departure warning’s steering-wheel feedback is also less natural than some rivals’.

Should I buy a 2025 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.54% compared with last year.
• The refresh improves simplicity, sophistication, and the overall user experience.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $52,183 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $59,033 CAD average.
• It is a well-rounded luxury SUV with strong everyday comfort and a new Type S Ultra trim.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It keeps the refreshed formula while adding only minor colour changes.

The bottom line: If you want the most polished version of the MDX’s refreshed formula, the 2025 is the best all-around pick. If price matters most, the 2024 is the smarter value play, while the 2026 makes sense if you simply want the latest model-year badge with little change.
