Used 2024 Toyota Tacoma for Sale nearCoquitlam, BC

How much does the 2024 Toyota Tacoma cost?

Prices have softened 8.73% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 458 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for used shoppers.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma a good car?

Yes — 4.8/5 is a strong user rating for the 2024 Toyota Tacoma, and the expert score is 7.8/10. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

The Tacoma’s appeal starts with its ground-up redesign, its new platform, and its standard turbocharged four-cylinder engine. It still leans into the qualities that have long defined it, including Toyota’s reputation for reliability and clear off-road capability, while adding more modern tech and standard driver-assistance features.

The trade-offs are worth weighing: the cabin is noisy, the manual-adjust seats can be troublesome, and the interior remains more functional than plush even in the top trim. For you, that means the Tacoma makes the most sense if you value durability, capability, and a truck-first feel over luxury-car polish.

36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent pool of attractive options to compare.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Tacoma is built around Toyota’s reputation for longevity, and the redesign adds a more modern foundation without abandoning that core identity. The expert review also points to standard advanced driver-assistance tech and a more refined steering setup than before, both of which support everyday confidence.

The powertrain is described as smooth in normal driving, with the automatic transmission working well and the new steering system addressing the vagueness of the outgoing model. Toyota also frames the truck as a long-life product, which matters if you plan to keep it for years.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Tacoma’s rugged, truck-first design can still mean a less polished day-to-day experience than some rivals.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Toyota Tacoma?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The standard truck keeps a familiar Toyota truck look, while the TRD Off Road packages add 17-inch off-road alloys and the Premium packages add heated and ventilated SofTex-trimmed seats. The interior stays function-first even in higher trims, so make sure the equipment level matches your comfort expectations.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder makes 278 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, and 4WD is standard in Canada. The eight-speed automatic is described as smooth, while the six-speed manual has a high bite point that can be awkward in tight manoeuvres.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, including Lane Tracing Assist, lane-departure alert with steering assist, oncoming vehicle collision avoidance assist, road-sign assist, emergency stop capability, adaptive cruise control with four following-distance settings, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. There are no official crash ratings cited yet.
• Infotainment: The standard screen is 8 inches, while the Premium packages get a 14-inch centre display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the system is described as responsive and legible.
• Fuel efficiency: The automatic is estimated at as low as 11.2 L/100 km combined, while the manual is expected to use 11.9 L/100 km combined.

Which 2024 Toyota Tacoma trim should I buy?

The 2024 Toyota Tacoma is offered in 2 trim levels: TRD Sport and TRD Off Road.

Here's the short version:

• TRD Sport: This is the better fit if you want a more road-focused Tacoma with sport-tuned shocks and the core redesign benefits without leaning into the off-road hardware.
• TRD Off Road: This is the better-value choice if you want the Tacoma’s strongest capability story, since it adds monotube Bilstein shocks and the off-road-oriented wheel package.

The safety package note is simple: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim to get the core driver-assistance suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Toyota Tacoma?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without expecting deep discounts everywhere.

• Deal availability: 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 458 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.73% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $53,386 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma's resale value?

The current average of $53,386 CAD sits slightly below last year's $58,493 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Tacoma has softened from its earlier level, which can create a better entry point for you as a buyer. For a future seller, it means the market is currently valuing this model year a bit more cautiously than it did a year ago.

Even so, the Tacoma’s strong reputation and broad appeal should help support demand over time. If you buy well now, you may still have a solid resale story later, especially if the truck is well maintained and equipped with desirable features.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma safe?

The Tacoma still comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which now includes Lane Tracing Assist, lane-departure alert with steering assist, oncoming vehicle collision avoidance assist, road-sign assist, emergency stop capability, adaptive cruise control with four following-distance settings, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

That standard suite is a major strength, especially because it brings more active driver-assistance tech into the truck’s base setup. The review also notes that the new electric power steering helps enable additional safety features and that Toyota has added more interventional Level 2-style aids for 2024.

There are no official NHTSA or IIHS crash ratings cited yet, so you should focus on the standard safety equipment and the truck’s overall safety design rather than published test results.

Should I buy a 2024 Toyota Tacoma or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.73% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesign brings a new platform, standard turbo power, and more advanced driver-assistance tech.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $48,195 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $53,386 CAD average.
• It is a compact pickup with a strong reputation and a clear personality.

The bottom line: If you want the newer platform, stronger tech, and a more modern Tacoma experience, the 2024 is the better long-term pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2023 remains the value play, especially if you can live with its older tech and less modern feel.
