This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the best-priced examples.

• Deal availability: 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 130 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.03% compared with last year.

The current average of $48,282 CAD sits slightly below last year's $53,662 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may face a softer starting point than owners saw a year ago. Even so, the Highlander’s practical appeal and strong reputation can help support demand when you eventually decide to sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Toyota Highlander or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.03% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a comfortable, practical, and well-liked Highlander with a softer used-market price than last year, the 2024 is the primary path to consider. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby older year may be worth a look, especially if you can find one with similar equipment and a lower asking price.
