• Deal availability: 29.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so you have some negotiating room.
• Inventory: There are 384 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.54% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $34,507 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Subaru Forester's resale value?

The current average of $34,921 CAD sits slightly below last year's $38,605 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also suggests future resale values may stay sensitive to market conditions. If you plan to sell later, buying near the lower end of the range gives you a better chance of preserving value. The Forester’s practical appeal should help keep demand steady among shoppers who want a straightforward compact SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Subaru Forester or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 29.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.54% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $30,040 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $34,921 CAD average.
• It emphasizes everyday usefulness with standard all-wheel drive and a roomy cabin.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $37,628 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $34,921 CAD average.
• It adds more advanced tech and a quieter cabin.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the best all-around pick if you want a well-rounded Forester with strong satisfaction and better pricing than the newer model. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the smarter value play, while the 2025 makes sense if you want the newer equipment and can stretch your budget.
