Used 2024 Subaru Ascent for Sale nearArnprior, ON

How much does the 2024 Subaru Ascent cost?

Prices have softened 23.24% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 164 listings available, which suggests you should have some room to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2024 Subaru Ascent a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Subaru Ascent earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

It fits buyers who want a three-row Subaru SUV with standard all-wheel drive, substantial ground clearance, affordable prices, and strong safety ratings. The trade-offs are clear: it has unimpressive fuel economy and an outdated interior design, and the lane-centering technology can be irritating.

34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2024 Subaru Ascent reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Ascent is built around Subaru’s usual emphasis on capability and security, and its standard all-wheel drive and strong safety focus support that reputation. The expert assessment also points to a vehicle that is straightforward to understand and well suited to family use.

Its powertrain is described as a turbocharged 2.4-litre four-cylinder with a CVT and standard all-wheel drive, and the transmission is said to do a convincing job of mimicking a conventional automatic most of the time. Subaru also notes that the first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the same fuel-thirsty powertrain and irritating lane-centering behaviour can remain part of the experience over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Subaru Ascent?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup runs from Convenience to Touring, Onyx, Limited, and Premier. Base-trim shoppers should note that some features are reserved for higher trims, including a panoramic sunroof starting at Touring, while Premier adds premium Nappa leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, and a surround-view camera.
• Powertrain: Every 2024 Ascent uses a turbocharged 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine with a CVT and standard all-wheel drive. It is tuned for everyday use and weekend travel, but fuel economy is not a strong point.
• Safety package: EyeSight is standard and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, adaptive cruise control, evasive steering assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and reverse automatic braking require an upgrade from Convenience to Touring.
• Infotainment: Subaru’s Starlink system uses an 11.6-inch portrait touchscreen with Bluetooth, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and text-messaging capability. Navigation and a 14-speaker Harman Kardon system are available higher up the range.
• Fuel efficiency: The official fuel consumption figures are 12.3 L/100 km in the city, 9.4 L/100 km on the highway, and 11.0 L/100 km combined. In testing, it returned 14.0 L/100 km in the city and 12.6 L/100 km overall.

Which 2024 Subaru Ascent trim should I buy?

The 2024 Subaru Ascent is offered in 5 trim levels: Convenience, Touring, Onyx, Limited, Premier.

Here's the short version:

• Convenience: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Ascent formula of standard all-wheel drive, the turbocharged 2.4-litre engine, and EyeSight safety tech. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model and can live without the extra comfort and convenience features found higher up.
• Touring: This is the first trim that adds a panoramic sunroof in Canada, and it also unlocks blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and reverse automatic braking. If you want the best balance of equipment and value, this is the trim to focus on.
• Onyx: This trim adds a blacked-out look and sits above Touring in the lineup. It suits you if style matters and you want a more distinctive appearance without jumping all the way to the top trims.
• Limited: This trim brings a navigation system and a 14-speaker Harman Kardon premium sound system. It is a good fit if you want more luxury and tech without going to Premier.
• Premier: This is the most fully equipped version, with premium Nappa leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, a surround-view camera, and the digital rearview camera setup. Choose it if you want the most upscale Ascent experience.

The safety-package note to keep in mind is that blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and reverse automatic braking are not standard on Convenience.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Subaru Ascent?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 164 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 23.24% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $37,373 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Subaru Ascent's resale value?

The current average of $37,438 CAD sits slightly below last year's $48,773 CAD.

That price drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Ascent easier to buy now but may also limit how much value a future seller can recover in the near term. If you buy at the current average or below, you may have less depreciation pressure than someone who bought when prices were higher. The model’s strong safety reputation and family-friendly positioning should still help support demand.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Subaru Ascent safe?

The 2024 Subaru Ascent earns five-star ratings in all NHTSA assessments except rollover resistance, where it earns a four-star rating, and it also earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

EyeSight is the standard driver-assistance suite, and it includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, adaptive cruise control, evasive steering assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and reverse automatic braking are not standard on Convenience and require Touring or higher.

A key caveat is the lane-centring assist system, which the expert evaluation found to be inconsistent and irritating in real-world driving.

Should I buy a 2024 Subaru Ascent or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 23.24% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 model continues with almost no changes, so you are getting the established Ascent formula rather than paying for a major redesign.

The bottom line: If you want the current Ascent package at a softer price, the 2024 model is the sensible path. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2024’s combination of standard all-wheel drive, strong safety, and lower pricing makes it the cleaner buy for many shoppers.
