Is the 2024 RAM 2500 a good car?

Generally — the 2024 RAM 2500 earns a 4/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Is the 2024 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback highlights a truck that many owners see as dependable and trouble-free enough to recommend, especially when you factor in its strong performance and overall value. That said, used heavy-duty trucks can carry higher ownership risk if they’ve been worked hard, so you should pay close attention to maintenance history and signs of wear.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 RAM 2500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop, compare, and wait for the right listing.

• Deal availability: 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 404 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.46% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $69,919 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $69,919 CAD sits slightly below last year's $80,790 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit near-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For future sellers, a softer entry price can mean more competition when you list, so condition, mileage, and service records will matter even more. Strong demand for capable heavy-duty trucks should still support interest, especially in well-kept examples.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.46% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $67,859 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $69,919 CAD average.
• It offers strong capability and a comfortable, well-equipped cabin.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $79,374 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $69,919 CAD average.
• It adds more luxury and refinement while keeping serious capability.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the best all-around starting point if you want a balanced mix of price, satisfaction, and current-market availability. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2023 is the smarter value play; if you want a newer-feeling truck and can stretch your budget, the 2025 is the upgrade path to consider.
