| Model Year | Total Listings | Good + Great Deals % |

I absolutely enjoy every aspect of this car. It came exactly like I wanted it to and had features that I was not expecting. All in all I'm very happy with my purchase.

Reviewed a 2020 Chevrolet Malibu on Mar 1, 2026
I purchased a 2020 Chevy Malibu on February 14th, 2024. Since then, the vehicle has been plagued with issues. The check engine light is constantly on, and when a sensor fails, multiple problems seem to arise. For example, the first time the check engine light appeared, the dash dinged and displayed messages like “steering assist reduced, drive with care,” while all the gauges would jump around. It also showed “low fuel,” despite the tank being full, and the message “service ESC.” The root cause was the throttle body, which needed to be replaced. Subsequently, similar issues occurred, and different parts had to be replaced, including the mass airflow sensor, the accelerator pedal, the brake vacuum pump sensor, the brake vacuum pump, and components related to the charging system. At one point, there was a ground issue. Then there is the constant “shift into park” after parking the car. Overall, this car has been nothing but trouble, and I would not recommend it to anyone.

The car has more features than you think for the price. Heated seats, android and apple auto, a turbo. It's not the pinical of luxury, but it definitely gives you enough if you are on a budget.

Why it stands out
The 2023 Chevrolet Malibu stands out as a roomy, value-focused midsize sedan that still offers a lot of car for the money. In the Malibu’s final generation, Chevrolet gave it sleeker styling, a longer wheelbase, and an overall larger footprint, which translated into a more open-feeling back seat. It was also more sophisticated than the car it replaced, even if it still did not quite match the refinement of rivals such as the Toyota Camry or Honda Accord. For shoppers who want a practical family sedan without paying a premium, that combination of space, style, and affordability is a big part of the Malibu’s appeal.
For 2023, the Malibu was more or less a carry-over from 2022. By this point, Chevrolet had already made some active safety features standard, including automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection and forward collision warnings. The infotainment setup was also a strength, with the Infotainment 3 system on a standard eight-inch touchscreen, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. That said, the Malibu’s safety scores were middling, and its overall appeal is tempered by a mixed reliability record and a driving character that is often described as less refined than competitors.
