How much does the 2024 Mazda MAZDA3 cost?

Prices have softened 8.42% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 236 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Mazda MAZDA3 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Mazda MAZDA3 earns 4.67/5 from owners and 7.5/10 from our experts. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

It stands out as a compact car that can be tailored to your priorities, with sedan and hatchback body styles, front- or all-wheel drive, and naturally aspirated or turbocharged powertrains. That flexibility is paired with polished styling and a more upscale feel than many mainstream rivals.

The main trade-offs are a confusing trim structure and limited practicality in the back half of the cabin. Cargo space is limited, and the rear seat is cramped.

With 33.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Mazda MAZDA3 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Mazda MAZDA3 is presented as a polished, well-rounded compact car with strong driving dynamics and a design that has aged gracefully. Its expert assessment also points to a refined feel and a premium character that should help it age well in day-to-day use.

The performance content describes the car as handling magnificently well, with tight, precise steering and very little body roll in normal driving. That kind of chassis tuning usually supports confidence over the long haul if you keep up with routine maintenance.

The cost-effectiveness content also notes that Mazda’s first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the car’s premium-leaning packaging can make repairs and upkeep feel less forgiving than a more basic compact.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mazda MAZDA3?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GX, GS, GT, and Suna trims differ meaningfully, with the base GX missing some of the safety and convenience equipment that starts on GS and above.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a naturally aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder and a turbocharged 2.5-litre four-cylinder, with AWD available in certain turbo configurations. The turbo version brings much stronger output, while the non-turbo setup is the efficiency-focused choice.
• Safety package: Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard, while automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and Adaptive Cruise Control with stop-and-go begin on GS. GT adds Traffic Jam Assist.
• Infotainment: Most trims get an 8.8-inch display, while a new available 10.25-inch screen adds touchscreen functionality only for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and wireless charging is available.
• Fuel efficiency: The non-turbo FWD setup is rated at 8.4 L/100 km city, 6.3 highway, and 7.5 combined in the sedan, and 8.5 city, 6.5 highway, and 7.6 combined in the hatchback. AWD and turbocharged versions use more fuel, with the turbo sedan rated at 10.1 city, 7.3 highway, and 8.8 combined, and the turbo hatchback at 10.1 city, 7.5 highway, and 8.9 combined.

Which 2024 Mazda MAZDA3 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Mazda MAZDA3 is offered in 4 trim levels: GX, GS, GT, and Suna.

Here's the short version:

• GX: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the Mazda3’s styling and driving feel at the lowest price, but you should expect the fewest features.
• GS: This is the best-value trim because it adds the key safety equipment that many shoppers will want, including automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and Adaptive Cruise Control with stop-and-go.
• GT: Choose this if you want the more premium experience, including Traffic Jam Assist and the available turbocharged powertrain, plus the six-speed manual on the FWD version.
• Suna: This is the most upscale hatchback choice, aimed at buyers who want the top-end Mazda3 experience and are willing to pay for it.

The safety package starts building from GS, so that trim is the smart minimum for most used buyers.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Mazda MAZDA3?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 236 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.42% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $26,646 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Mazda MAZDA3's resale value?

The current average of $26,718 CAD sits slightly below last year's $29,173 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer today, but it also means a future seller may need to be realistic about where the market has settled. If you buy near the current average, there may be less room for appreciation unless demand strengthens.

The Mazda3’s premium feel and strong driving character should help it remain appealing to used shoppers who want something more polished than a typical compact car. That can support resale value, especially for well-kept examples with desirable equipment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Mazda MAZDA3 safe?

The 2024 Mazda MAZDA3 earns five-star ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and a 2024 Top Safety Pick+ from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard, while automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and Adaptive Cruise Control with stop-and-go begin on GS. GT adds Traffic Jam Assist.

The main caveat is that some of the more desirable driver-assistance features are not standard on the base trim, so you need to move up the range to get the full safety package.

Should I buy a 2024 Mazda MAZDA3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.42% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It blends flexible body styles, multiple powertrains, and a premium-feeling cabin.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $25,138 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $26,718 CAD average.
• It offers an upscale feel and hatchback versatility.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $28,434 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $26,718 CAD average.
• It adds Amazon Alexa Built-in on GT and higher trims.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the best all-around choice if you want the Mazda3’s style, safety, and driving polish with a healthier market position than the 2025. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the better value play, while the 2025 makes sense if you want the newer tech updates and are willing to pay more.
