How much does the 2024 Mazda MAZDA3 cost?

Prices have softened 9.07% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 216 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Mazda MAZDA3 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Mazda MAZDA3 earns a 4.67/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

It stands out as a compact car that offers sedan and hatchback body styles, front- or all-wheel drive, and naturally aspirated or turbocharged engines. That breadth gives you flexibility if you want a small car that can lean toward style, efficiency, or stronger performance.

The main trade-offs are a confusing trim structure and limited practicality, including not much cargo space and a cramped rear seat. Even so, the car’s polished design and strong driving dynamics make it feel more upscale than many rivals.

Only 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market still rewards careful shopping.

Is the 2024 Mazda MAZDA3 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Mazda MAZDA3 is presented as a polished, well-rounded compact car with strong driving dynamics and a design that has aged gracefully. Its expert evaluation also points to a refined feel and a strong safety reputation, which are both encouraging signs for used buyers.

The performance notes suggest the car is engineered to deliver enjoyable everyday driving, with a range of powertrains and drivetrains that let you choose the setup that fits your needs. The cost-effectiveness commentary also frames it as a compelling value if you appreciate Mazda’s more premium approach.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the car’s premium positioning can make it feel expensive if you expect mainstream-car running costs and packaging.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mazda MAZDA3?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GX, GS, GT, and Suna trims create a wide spread of equipment and price, and the base GX misses some of the driver-assistance features that arrive on GS and above.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a naturally aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder and a turbocharged 2.5-litre four-cylinder, with AWD available in certain turbo configurations. The turbo version delivers much stronger output, while the non-turbo setup is the simpler choice.
• Safety package: Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard, while automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and Adaptive Cruise Control with stop-and-go begin on GS. GT adds Traffic Jam Assist.
• Infotainment: Most trims use an 8.8-inch display, while a new available 10.25-inch screen appears on higher trims. CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, wireless on upper trims, and the larger screen adds touchscreen functionality only when using those phone interfaces.
• Fuel efficiency: The non-turbo FWD sedan is rated at 8.4 L/100 km city, 6.3 highway, and 7.5 combined, while the turbo AWD hatchback is rated at 10.1 city, 7.5 highway, and 8.9 combined.

Which 2024 Mazda MAZDA3 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Mazda MAZDA3 is offered in 4 trim levels: GX, GS, GT, and Suna.

Here's the short version:

• GX: This is the entry point if you want the lowest price, but it is the least equipped and misses some of the more advanced driver-assistance features that arrive higher up the range.
• GS: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds key safety equipment such as automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and Adaptive Cruise Control with stop-and-go.
• GT: Choose this if you want the more premium feel and the available turbocharged setup, plus Traffic Jam Assist and the six-speed manual in FWD form.
• Suna: This is the top hatchback trim and suits you if you want the most upscale, fully featured version of the Mazda3 lineup.

The safety package starts with blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, while the more advanced driver-assistance features begin on GS.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Mazda MAZDA3?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you should shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 216 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.07% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $26,620 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Mazda MAZDA3's resale value?

The current average of $26,624 CAD sits slightly below last year's $29,279 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it can also mean a future seller may need to be more competitive on asking price. If you buy well now, you may have less room for appreciation later, but you could benefit from a lower entry cost.

The Mazda3’s strong styling, broad powertrain choice, and premium feel should help it remain appealing to used shoppers. A well-kept example with desirable equipment is likely to draw attention more easily than a less-equipped one.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Mazda MAZDA3 safe?

The 2024 Mazda MAZDA3 earns five-star ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and a 2024 Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard, while automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist begin on GS. Adaptive Cruise Control with stop-and-go also starts on GS, and GT adds Traffic Jam Assist.

The main caveat is that some of the more useful safety technology is not standard on the base trim, so you should check equipment carefully if you are shopping lower in the range.

Should I buy a 2024 Mazda MAZDA3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.07% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines sedan and hatchback body styles with multiple drivetrains and engines for broad appeal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $25,244 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $26,624 CAD average.
• It offers an upscale feel and hatchback versatility.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $28,664 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $26,624 CAD average.
• It adds Amazon Alexa Built-in on GT and higher trims in Canada.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the best all-around choice if you want the strongest mix of price, variety, and polished driving character. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2023 is the smarter value play, while the 2025 makes sense if you want the newer tech updates and are willing to pay more.
