In Canada, it suits shoppers who want a straightforward family crossover, but it also gives you room to move up to more upscale or more rugged-looking versions. Is the 2024 Kia Sportage reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Sportage’s appeal comes from its broad equipment coverage and practical packaging, which can help reduce the frustration that often comes with living with a stripped-down base model. Its carryover status for 2024 also means you’re looking at a familiar setup rather than a major redesign year. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific vehicle you choose has been maintained properly, especially if you plan to keep it for many years.

What is the 2024 Kia Sportage's resale value?

The current average of $29,074 CAD sits slightly below last year's $33,260 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Sportage has become more accessible for buyers, which can also shape what future sellers should expect. If you buy at today’s average, you may have less immediate price appreciation to lean on, but the model’s broad appeal can still support steady demand. The wide trim range and strong equipment list help keep it relevant in the used market, especially for shoppers comparing compact SUVs with similar pricing.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Kia Sportage or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.59% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $26,958 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $29,074 CAD average.
• It offers a stylish, roomy, and well-equipped all-around package.

The bottom line: Choose the 2024 if you want the newer model-year pricing context and a healthy share of deal listings to compare. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2023 is the better value path, especially if you find one with the features you want.
